3 speeds, lol! Sad but true..

What gear were you in entering the tunnel (most impressive) and what did you downshift to that made my eyes bug out with heart/adrenaline pumping excitement?

Sunny,
It is not an automatic tranny but rather a 3 speed manual.

from the day I did on saturday I was surprised in the differences between speedo readings and actual speed when measured electronically. A lot of the Porsches were showing differences of 10-15mph at higher speeds, my speedo was typically not working but I'd imagine Ferrari's would be no better if not worse.

169 mph (270 km/h)on the speedo. It was max and very stable.

My speedo shows 98 km/h when actual speed is 100 km/h.

I've turned chicken in my old age. I have done 170+ in a twin turbo Callaway Corvette, but only maybe 120 in the GT4. Too many things can go wrong, either mechanically, or with critters, etc. on the road.

I see 100 or so daily, however.

My speedo only goes to 85mph on my 82 308.
I had it pinned for a least 5 minutes. I thought I broke the speedometer, because it took a while for it to come off of the stop at 85.

When you are going fast you watch the road, not the speedometer. Unless you're pretty dumb.

60 MPH! It wasn't my Ferrari and it was on the back twisties. In the Lotus? 115, and in a Europa it feels like 220. Maybe 210.

I say Glickenhaus wins . . . (more for the late, great driver in his car than the speed)
I like the disclaimers in these 'fastest' threads. Wasn't there a guy in Connecticutt a few year ago whose passenger filmed him doing 300kph on the Conn. turnpike? I thought I heard that the video made its way to the fine Troopers in that state and he got a ticket??

An indicated 135 in my 308QV. Probably was 125 due to the speedo error. She had more in her. I had to back it down because I was running out of room.

FYI
I looked at the Shelby post 67 LeMans engineering reports. My MK-IV driven by Bruce McLaren hit 223 on the Mulsanne with 2:50/1 gearing at 6700rpms.
These documents are way cool and have every set up and problem they encountered including weights and measures.

Ah I posted this as one of my first few post also. There was quite a few high speed people here but I think Allan's Lambo was top dog at 220mph with his V-12 Lambo on nitrous

Hello again. Im not sure whether this has been brought up before, but I was curious to know what was the fastest speed you have been in your Ferrari? I dont have a Ferrari YET, but I have gone 140 in my Friends Nissan Maxima.
