I don't think the proximity to FSF would kill the FLG franchise.

Look at SoCal....you've got FOC and what was Ogner Ferrari within spittin' distance, not to mention FBV.

Rich, I appreciate your honesty when it came to running the parts department. Hope the best for you and the organization on their new direction.

Mr. McAlister--

There are always two sides to every story.

Enough said.
And Mark is a great guy, and a good personal friend of mine, so I am not at all talking about him.

Regards

FLG never got it together. Mark at Veloce did a better job, better price and backed up what he does. I always hate to see a local organization tumble but FLG did not even honor their web site that stated they would meet or beat anyone on parts and service. Honesty is the best policy!

That newspaper article makes it seem like Ferrari was becoming a "horse's rear" for them to deal with.

Red;

Matt says I'm running next week. I got it out without any paint blistering, etc. Other than some burnt wiring, and a small crack in the rear window, everything worked out well. As a precaution, we replaced the belts, pullies, etc., in short another 30k service.

This is from 1998, but most of it is still true.

Red:

Wasn't there substantial litigation over the franchise with Ferrari of North American, and the California New Dealer Board?

Wow! 4 threads on this subject and none of our crack detective squad have been able to nail what really happened.

This is the longest I've ever seen F-Chat stumpped.

I am very sorry to hear that, Rich. Reading between the lines, I spell the distinct whiff of FNA & FSpA politics. We actually live in Austin, Texas. However, we purchased a pre-owned Ferrari from you folks the day after Christmas, 2001, while visiting my wife's family, who live all throughout the Silicon Valley & Bay areas. Unfortunately, we never made it over to see the Cupertino service facility. Nevertheless, we really liked your LG location, and enjoyed the business dealings we had with you...and the car, & promised repairs on it, we delivered to us exactly as promised!!

Hello Dave--
Dave-
Just an FYI, we were one of the select dealers that never had the "chance" to be a Maserati dealer.

Any questions--fell free to email me...

>>>>>>>>>>>""Whatever you say about "Ferrari" cars when it comes to the factory standing by the dealerships on warranty work it is a JOKE!""<<<<<<<<<

NEVER has a truer word been spoken. They're looking for ANY reason not to carry out warranty work...... Really is a pathetic situation - you guys should take heart from the fact that this treatment is not confined to US dealers.

A.Tonokaboni,
Hmm... that might be it. The proximity to FoSF definitely has a play in it, I think. By the way, I see you're in the Orange County area...I live in Irvine. Would you interested in meeting up with us on some of our So.Cal drives? Are you coming to the FCA Ortega Run?

Perhaps something to do with the original Bankruptcy and auction purchase from the current owner created a lot of problems with FNA. In addition, FNA did not like them so close to Ferrari of San Francisco. Whatever you say about "Ferrari" cars when it comes to the factory standing by the dealerships on warranty work it is a JOKE!

I'm not sure of the REAL reason why... when asked, he didn't go into details... all I know is that they now have quite a bit of merchandise that can't be returned to FNA... so, we can all still benefit some. When I stopped by there a few weeks ago, though, they still have lots of F-cars there. In fact, I saw a torn-apart F-50 that belonged to a customer...a 355, a few 360's and some others....

Thanks, Byron...but it still is a mystery. That thread did not address why FLG gave up (or was forced to give up??) its franchise.

I stopped by there to pick up mats for my 348 and love them... Rich is the parts mgr there... if you need some things from their boutique, give him a call and he will set you up!

Can't believe it - I wonder how many dealers are facing tough times by being forced to sell Maseratis.
In the UK - I can think of a few.....

Does anyone know about this? Seems FLG has given up its Ferrari-Maserati franchise, and is now known as Bentley of Silicon Valley!! We received a letter from them to this effect, also indicating they were no longer doing warranty work on Ferraris. And their web site confirms the name change (even though the URL remained the same).

Anyone know what gives?
