Mike Procopio - Thanx for the comments regarding the 456 acrylic - one of my first attempts i made a couple of years ago trying a new style. The whole thing done with nothing but a pallet knife - Its approximately 24" x36". Some friends saw this and its brother "308" done in the same style and thought aliens had abducted me and replaced me with some sort of clone... the style was soooo shockingly different from what they had been used to for 10 years. For that very reason, they are so much fun to do. Winning Streak and Italian blur were just finished 3 weeks ago, a bit tighter work but in the same vien. "The Office" is the most recent "more-realistic" watercolour... using pics i took at the Cavallino Classic 3 years ago.

Mike Charness - I use the Mac all day at work so after 14 years Adobe Illustrator and me have gotten quite close (: The lack of training at work caused me to self-assign myself The Harrier Jet project to learn the program. Its one of the more involved things i've done. Its a wonderful program.
Nice work with Corel Draw... very impressive...

Andreas - Yes i do accept commissions. I prefer to take my own shots of the car, but with the internationality of the 'net that obviously won't be practical, so keep in mind the better the photo of, say, your beach house that you want a, say, Enzo Ferrari parked in front of, the better the result. I've had backlit shots of a house with a pick-up truck parked in front and was asked "to do my best removing it, and fix the lighting" while they tried to verbally describe what was covered up by the truck... ):

its times like that i wonder why i drew that pirate on the back of the matchbook and mailed it in...

just kidding.. (:

Thomas,

would you be doing any work on commission? Like if somebody sent you a photograph that you could use as your starting point?

Beautiful stuff... you've got an incredible talent. I really admire your eye for composition.

I'm fascinated by the Illustrator computer art and the challenge of getting the "lighting" right so the drawn artwork looks almost photographic. I've done some Ferrari stuff in CorelDraw so I know how time consuming that can be! For some reason I found your "328 Boot" especially to my liking because of the angles and reflections.

Below is a computer art version I did of a common 360 photograph. I have also done similar versions of a 308QV and a 328.

Extraordinary work. "456," Acrylic on Canvas, I found to be the most intriguing.

Kelly, thats Gavin Macleod's work I believe, "Master in the Rain" or something like that... I've seen several of his originals and alot of his prints in Toronto, he's done several of Gilles Villeneuve (in a Ferrari of course) that i find personally very striking...
I enjoy a much more loose style rather than the tight, crisp airbrush of Mr. Macleod, but there's no argument that the guy is very good.

Ming, i actually DO have a grey 456GT drawing, a pencil-crayon and marker rendering on a grey board, kinda like those auto-stylist renderings, i'll get it on my site as soon as i get a good scan... stay tuned...

gawsh... thanx fer the warm welcome and all the wonderful comments... my own thread too... wow...thanx L. W. Ausbrooks...

i've been doin' this for about 15 years now. I find it extremely encouraging when someone wants one of "Enzo's own" done by moi. Theres alot of my heart and soul in these things... only you guys (oops.. and gals - sorry Nika (: ) can fully understand what that means...

FYI "#15" and "Monza 2001" are currently at the Toronto Car Show AJAC Art Exhibit in the south building if anyones going on the weekend....

once again, thanx fer the warm welcome and i'll look forward to getting more involved here...

Forza Ferrari...
