I think all of us take the decision by the looks at first stage. This is the way how we have the very first contact and instintively we decide - LIKE / DISLIKE

I have to admit the looks go first for me especially when you are investing a lot of money for a car and that is the reason most of us here went for the Ferrari, and with good looks of an exotic car most of them come with decent performance which is still very respectable for the streets. You gotta admit it, just because you find a car that is super fast and handles like an F1 you aren't gonna pay a ton of money for your dream car if it looks average or bad. IMHO there is not a perfect car made till this day, but very close for function driveability, power, performance, and materials I do love my 01 CL600 very smooth V12 and a great everyday car. |

Speaking of golf bags, anyone here actually drive their Ferrari to a golf course and leave it unattended for 5 hours? I've used my 360 on a few runs to the the practice range but never for a full round of golf. Main reason being that I've noticed quite a few cars have dings on the doors in the parking lots. Also, those huge SUVs, with their big doors, parked all round the lot can't be good for my F-car's health. |

And another point: I can fit my golf bag in the 308s trunk compartment. I think I just have to take out the driver (biggest big bertha so pretty long) and lay it on top of the bag. How far has Ferrari really come with making cars so much bigger? |

For me and my 308, it's the entire package. The interior is simple yet is performs the job with perfection. The driving experience is beyond description with the exhaust "whine" and the manual steering feel of every ripple in the road. But it all starts when I enter the garage and I see this gleaming red voluptuous piece of Enzo sitting there waiting to be driven. How many other automobiles in the world turn your head every single time you see one on the road...even though most members here have one sitting in thier garage?...None! |

This is where I get confused too. Isn't the 456 for golfers out there (I play golf a lot so don't take offense). Or maybe even the 550. I'm lost cause I thought the mid engined cars were supposed to be nothing but racey. There's no denying that the 360 is a very racey car, but what would it be if it was the 308 size (maybe a touch bigger) and all aluminum, with that engine. Alright a slight frame stretch for the longitudinal engine. So a touch bigger than a 288. Disclaimer: In all I love Ferrari and guys with 360s I love them too. |

Robert, I couldn't agree more. The 360 is great, but I look at it with an eye as to what it could have been i.e. smaller, lighter, less luxurious, no power steering, no traction control or other sissy stuff like that. I always thought Enzo had to twist in his grave if he heard Luca talking about space enough for golf clubs. The 550 is a fabulous GT/luxo/performance car. I would have made the 360 nothing but raw edged performance, but I know I am in the minority here. Dave |

for me the perfect cars are the F-40, and the F-50. I want a car that is almost a race car, but yet a street car. If I could re-design the 360, I would take out the leather, put in suede dash, racing seats, and just a Carbon Fiber tub. I only want ac, and heat. No radio just a tubi, and just a bit more aggressive stance. That is all I want if only I were the Price of Bernai (sp) |

Definately dricing experiance first, and exterior second. I wouldnt want to be driving a hideous car. I guess then would come the interior. Everything has to be set up right if you want to drive fast. The book i read on performance/race car driving really stressed a good racing seat. It also said to design the interior around the driver, with the wheel, pedals, shifter, and any other important things in a comfortable position. Last would come sound, its sort of important, but who cars what it sounds like if its fast. |

I agree with the last post. If a Ferrari looked like a Pacer and with all the mechanical querks a ferrari has, the Ferrari, and not the Edsel would not be the laughing stock of automotive history. |

For the Italians, clearly function follows form. For the Germans, clearly form follows function. For me, it's the driving experience that keeps me buying Ferraris. I found my QV more involving and fun to drive than BMW M3's just to name one, though for an all around car, the M3 is way better. Looks are part of the experience. Just approaching a Ferrari knowing I am going to get in and drive still increases my heart rate after a number of years and 10's of thousands of miles. Then there is the sound, the tactile feeling of the rack and pinion steering, the shift knob inches from the steering wheel. A Ferrari is about the only car I can enjoy when it's just sitting there. One time in a parking lot, a young guy with an older Corolla was next to me. I could see he was thinking hard and finally he said "my car is as good as yours". I replied "your car is better, but it sure isn't much fun!" IMO without Pininfarina's beautiful work, Ferrari would just be a footnote in automotive history. |

Before you get married the exterior is the most important. After you get married, the interior is. |

What can I say? I'm shallow! :D I admit that driving experience is paramount, but I can't get past the fact that it is always the looks of the car that get the passion going for me. Like, for example, were I to be able to buy a Ferrari, I know it would be either a Testa or a 355 because I just can't resist their looks! ;) |

Driving Experience BEFORE Exterior? Not for me: 1. Driving Experience/Engine/Handling 2. Interior (ergonomics) 3. Exterior 4. Sound Ernesto

The most attractive interiors IMO are Rolls Royce and Bentley. British were fantastic on that area. About exteriors some Italians - Ferrari on top of them.-------- of course!!!!!---------

For me personally, the break down is like this: 1) Exterior 2) Driving Experience 3) Handling feel/limits 4) Power 5) Sound 6) Interior Hehe... To me, as long as the interior is functional, that's fine. I like the sumptuous interior of a Bentley, but I can definitely live without it. I do admit, though, that the super low rent interior on my Corvette C5 used to bug me a bit... |

Until the 360, the 8 cylinder cars sure don't win any awards for interior comfort, maybe for decent functionality (basic go fast set up), but not for adjustability and comfort. Outside looks go a long way here IMO, but obviously in no way compare to the engine. |

The car itself obviously makes a big difference. But to answer in the abstract, just ask yourself which you find more important to keep clean the interior or the exterior? |

One thing that draws me towards the 355 and the 550 or 456 is the interior of the car, the steering whell, the speedo..lets remember were in the cabin more then we look at the outside..cuz we drive our ferrari's right? so what pays a major role, the exterior or the interior? if the interior which car has the most attractive interior..seats etc. thanks |
