I passed on one for $6,500 which included a trailer in 68. I passed on one for $45,000 in 72 which didn't include a trailer (The one you want 2OA at LeMans.) My judgement is often flawed. Perhaps third time will be the charm...

Jim, why don't you go ahead and get a 1/43 GTO so you'll be prepared when the time comes?

Jim,

The Peterson Automotive Museum gift shop has them. I saw it at the last FCA Board meeting.

Want me to pick one up?

If so, give me the specific's and I'll get it

James,

I am getting these 1/32 scale slotracers anytime soon (on a private basis, it's not really business).

They are horribly expensive for slotracers ($ 200 +, each).

Anything for you?

Jack

Cool! I saw your car at the get-together at Bill Hart's house. Thanks for answering my questions in such detail. Are you going to G'wood this year and will you be participating in any of the racing? I intend to be there.
Rgds,
Faisal.

Faisal
Their roof is correct as of when the car ran at LeMans. After the race Ford added the "Gurney Bubble" and painted my car as a clone of the #1 Gurney car and sent both cars to autoshows as the winner. If you went to the NY show you saw my car, If you went to the LA show you saw the Gurney car. Ford lost track as to which car was which and gave my car to their "Racer of the Year"
AJ Foyt as they mistakenly thought it was the winner. When I bought the car I worked with the Henry Ford Museam and determined that my car was the Donohue/McLaren car. I restored the paint to the proper colors, changed the details such as mirrors, but left the "Gurney Bubble" as it was an interesting part of the cars history.

It's missing the hump on the roof. Looks great otherwise.

LOL...! Geez, James, i'm not that young, i remember those... They still have them, today... When we were kids, my brother worked on things like that; i wasn't so good at them - picture a little kid with all sorts of little plastic parts glued to his hands and shirt with a puzzled and innocent look on his face... :-)

I have a nice 1/43. I like models. You have a nice collection. In the old days they made ones you could build. It was fun and taught you how things worked.

Is it safe to assume that this toy was manufactured after the car you have...? It's got the same number and seems to be a genuine Ferrari collectible...
