adrian, congrats on the new car.
i'm not 100% sure if it was 'autoforum', but when i was shopping for my 328, i got desperate in finding the 'right car'. I found one in Toronto and after speaking with the salesman for a couple weeks, I flew to TO to buy the car. I told him I'm flying up based on trusting his words on the car's condition (trust enough to fly up, not necessarily to buy). well, I flew up, and within 2 minutes i discovered the car had been repainted even though i told him original paint one of my major requirements. the car was nice, but i couldn't trust him. I was bitten by Ferrari fever and tried to convince myself to buy it, and at the same time not to buy it since he wasn't honest with me. i left Toronto, disappointed. but i'm glad i did, since i love the 328 I finally got!

I brought mine home on two ferry boats across the Puget Sound and home on the freeway in a rainstorm so bad I couldn't see 5 car lengths ahead of me. NOTHING was going to stop me from getting that car.............then it was four months of 'quality' time cleaning it up and prepping for summer! Well worth it.

Giang Hoang, I totally sympathise. Love your car, and the plates! Just to clarify, I've already bought the car. Louie, the salesman, was wonderful. Very protective. Just poking a little fun at myself!
Bad Asian humour.
BTW, check out their website. They get some nice cars in all the time, and when the US $ was much stronger than the Canadian $, They used to ship a lot of cars South

Adrian,
i had someone who was interested in buying my car couple weeks ago. due to the rain, we never got together and he since bought another car (non-Ferrari). i'm not a good salesman and needed the car to sell itself. i felt that having a newbie to the Ferrari world drive the car in the rain would not show the car's full enjoyment potential. taking the top off to hear the engine adds to the 'experience' of driving, IMO. his loss in the end. for the record, i didn't 'not allow' him to see the car in the rain.

It's not the rain, the salesman (Louie from AutoForum, great guy and dealership) won't LET ME! He thinks it's sacrilegious! HAHAHA
Anyway, I'll try to get the deal done today. Need the distraction, and also to get over my withdrawal from not driving the DINO 246 (see Frank, I have respect for you). See separate thread.

My 328 drives better in the rain than most of my other cars. After it drys, California dust it, 5 minutes later back to new. Doesn't leak at all, although when you open the door the rain can come straight down.

I'm with you Adrian and completely understand your frustration! I've had my car 4 1/2 years and it's never seen a drop of rain since the day I got it.

So the car will get wet and dirty. No big deal! This way you get to spend some quality time with the car when you clean it up. :-)
