This car is in Greenville, SC... my home town. If anyone would like to verify it's existance, I would be happy to check the car out in person. James |

Those are probably the seat covers he is refering to in the description. Just didn't take them off when the photo was taken. I have a set just like them with my 355. You guys sure are paranoid! Stan |

So what's the scam? Could just be an honest typo...He also states it's a rare color combo.. I would think he meant the color combo in the pic rather than black since black is quite popular.. BTW- most sellers of high end cars don't even expect to sell their cars online,, just inexpensive exposure and advertising.. Besides, who just forks over a $5k deposit via mail on a $100k car without even having seen it or talked to the previous owner.. |

This car was indeed posted several times before. In fact, it was the subject of two simultaneous postings at the same time for a while. I was surprised that eBay even allowed such a thing. I dismissed it as a totally scary deal. for this new one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2419172091&category=6212 note that it comes with both red and black interiors.

I do quote a bit of trading on ebay and the new scam now appears to be bogus certified checks. So seller beware as well. I have never been burned but a certified check now be a fake and you have to talk to the bank. Bill |

This car has absolutely been on Ebay before. I remember thinking to myself that it was a fantastic color combo. Have become strangely addicted to looking for F-cars on Ebay. Sad, really. |

correction, it reads 11,000 miles on the description and 8,820 on the odometer. |

Note that the description says it has 11,00 miles but the odometer says 8,820 on it. Thats a red flag! |

I do not know anything about this specific car, so no disrespect to seller, but the ebay scam of things appearing more than once is common and I am one of those burned. Someone will sell, and continue to resell items, and then once a reasonable shipping time has elapsed... simply pocket the money and walk away. Car scams have been happening the same way, most of the time they don't even have a car at all! There was a Dr. in FL selling his Porsche on traderonline.com and someone asked for him to Fedex pictures as well as the VIN so they could do a CarFax. They took those pictures and posted them on ebay along with the VIN. Someone bid and won and sent $ via a "Escrow Co." (which apparently is another huge fraud problem now on ebay) which had a big fancy website. The VIN checked out, the pics were real, and he used Escrow Co. When there was no car delivered the ebay account was now defunct, the email was nonresponsive, and the fancy escrow account? Gone. When he had the VIN info he contacted Tallahassee and got the owners name. "Ebay?" the Doc replied. "Never listed it there, in fact, I traded the car in 2 weeks ago for a Jag." Let the buyer beware. |

I have seen this 355 lots of times before and I dont know about its history, but that is my ideal perfect car --favorite colors and with a 6 speed, not F1. |

There was something wierd when it last ran. I can't remember what it was. I may have even placed a bid on it. I just can't remember. I just sold my 328 and have a 348 but I am always in the market for a 355 if the right one comes along. |

Yes, there F-Cars do repeatedly appear on the eBay site, but I agree with j scott that this one has CONSISTENTLY appeared for a very long time. I guess we are both wondering if it is a storied car. Anybody? Regards. |

There are many Ferrari's that are posted on Ebay over and over, months on end... Sometimes I see the same cars listed for 6 months.. So what's wrong with it?? Are you in the market for one?? |

I seem to remember that there was something odd about this car or was it the seller or am I wrong? Anyone remember something odd? If I am wrong, my apologies to the seller! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2419020315&category=6212 |
