Paul: I have the owner's name at my home, but I won't be able to check it until Sunday. I remember that the name Tony Raftis was sometimes mentioned as the owner, but this wasn't true. I will look for the correct name and let you know .... |

Why would a billionaire worry about the tax? |

A billionaire in Argentina bought a regular F50, they also have an 80-100% tax down here. Seems since he was so Buddy with the Pres & since everybody wanted the car to come down here. the Pres waved the tax for him |

When I bought my car down at Symbolic last year (Sept. 00), the car sold to the Australian guy was there - as the story goes, he paid into the 7 digits to get it, and upon returning home to Australia was informed of a 100% import tariff - good motivation to put it up for sale... |

I haven't read the article you're talking about, but are you sure that 002 went to South Africa? If you have details, please let me know. Also: 003 was originally sold to Jim Spiro, USA. It was auctioned in January 2000 and sold to someone in Australia. The new owner kept it in California (Symbolic Motor Car Comp.), where it still remains. I believe the car is for sale again. |

There was a short article of this car in the FCA magazine "Prancing Horse" #139. S/N: 001 - Originally for Sultan, but deal fell through. Sold to Art Zafiropoulo under the condition to be used for display/demonstration purposes only. Received in 1997, is still in his hands. There were enough parts left-over to make two more cars. But both of these were not to the "full" racing specification of #001 S/N: 002 - Originally sent to Japan. Now is in South Africa S/N: 003 - Originally sold to someone in Australia, it still remains in America. |

Ive heard 3 were produced, I saw 1 owned by a Greek dotcom Billionaire who lives in San Francisco at the FCA 2001 reunion in Dallas Tx. Regarding the other 2, 1 was said to b owned by the Sultan of Brunei (Greek Billionaire may have bought this 1 from SUltan also ) #3 is either at a musem in Switzerland or was retained by Ferrari Spa. museum |

I'm new to the website, and am trying to find as much info on the F50 GT as I can. Any info would be helpfull. I've heard that only 3 were produced, but i've also seen on other websites that there could have been up to 6. I've also heard that when they were sold to collectors they were made to sign a form stating that they wouldn't race the car. If anyone can confirm or deny this, or shed some light on the GT, it would be helpfull. Thanks! |
