Mike,

Thanks for the link BUT... that list is missing A LOT of items. Substitute air filters ($5), oil filters ($8), gaskets from JC Whitney ($40 or so)... Alas, doing 150% workload right now, can't make a listing right now.

Maybe in a few weeks i'll compile a list and post it on my Ferrari pages at http://www.EnjoyTheMusic.com/ferrari/

PLEASE do me a favor and tap me back in early JULY to make the list. Thanks my friend.

Enjoy the Drive,

The database is a good idea. A lot of info has been posted here but it's all spread out. A database should also include a column for how people feel the parts compare to what the dealers will sell you. Examples: we know where to get cheaper cam cover gaskets for the Dino V6 engines, but the ones from the dealers are far superior and worth the money; we know where to get oil filters that are cheaper than the UFI the dealer will sell you and are actually probably better; there are Fiat parts that match up to some 70s era Fiats and some like switches are probably identical, where some like ignition rotors, while probably identical marelli originally are potentially inferior aftermarket at this point from some Fiat parts suppliers. And so on...

Steve-
OT, but how are the ends of your SS hoses connected on your engine? Is it just a cheap clamp, or a smooth clamp, or is it something more? Could you post a close-up picture if it's something more than a cheap clamp? I've been admiring your engine for some time and just bought a large selection of hoses so I can dress up/do required maintenance to get mine up to par. Thanks for the help and the idea.

Maybe we can get Rob to post a database of the parts that can be sourced from other vehicles. This would be a great resource to some of the DIYers or the people that just want to save a buck. What are your thoughts?

www.srexoticautomotive.com in California is introducing custom exhausts, aluminum flywheels, waterpumps, etc. well under the norm and of extremely high quality and performance.

Yes. Just went to AutoZone and got a new water cap for the '85 308QV. Ferrari wants something insane for a flaky version, i paid $5 for the Fiat equiv.. and my $5 substitute actually works and holds pressure :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: Try $50 for Ferrari UFI air filter, versus $5 for the STP version. Gosh, i could go on and on...

I have been told there are certain parts that
can be purchased for a Ferrari, thou not factory
they will work just as good. Do you have any
experience with this?
