Mitch, Usually do not chime in on this type of thread, but... Taking pride in ownership may also mean adding little touches. Speaking for myself, the 308 QV gas cap is a cheap looking plastic piece with metal insert. Changed this out to the now normal aluminum with Ferrari logo piece. While NO ONE really sees this part except myself during filling her up, i feel better seeing a "proper" gas cap over the stock plastic unit. Of course in the end what REALLY matters is that YOU... Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin

"Mitch, the door sill is visible for about 50% of the time that you're showing off the car!" No, actually it is not showing 50% of the time, more like 3% as most gawlkers just look over the lowered windows and into the passenger compartment. But my sills are armouralled regularly to keep that 'fresh' look. But if they got scratched, or whatever, I would do nothin above and beyond another armouraling. |

But, Mitch, the door sill is visible for about 50% of the time that you're showing off the car! Yes, I own my 360 to drive it on the track. But I still have fun showing it off to friends and enthusiasts. After circling the car, I open the door and the engine lid... and then we talk about cars for 20 minutes with the doors open.

"Mitch with an attitude like that you must have owned 99% of the crappy used cars I have looked at!" Actually, if you looked at my F355B you would find it in concours condition almost all the time. But I draw the line when it comes to things you can't see for more than 5 seconds per day. |

BTW that reminds me that there was someone on this board a year plus ago who collected money for a group buy of door sills. I sent him money but never got them. Anybody else?

If Chris can do them either or have the whole thing done in CF and the rubber piece indented but don't lay the rubber in it Try first without. The metal sills tend to rust in the fold where the screws hold them in place. Both 348 and 355s do it.

The F348 GTC Compitizione has carbon fibre doors like mine with the rubber recessed in the sill. They look good with or with out. Its personal choice. I think having a chrome insert instead of the rubber will look a bit tacky, over the top. |

"what do you suggest" Spend more time inside driving the thing! If necessary, spend more time outside washing and waxing the thing. The door sill is for the 5 seconds between opening the door and closing the door--as such--completely ignorable! |
