I remember when i picked up my Boxer, i asked Eddie about the glue on the leather sill behind the driver's seat: "Oh, you can't touch that, that's original factory glue." I told my detailer as much, but he didn't listen. |

Ive heard that Pagani makes a lot of cf for F & Lambo I agree the F40 & F50 are both much better looking than the Enzo which is very awkward from some angles. Ive seen several in person. |

It's just annoying to see on the F50 how good Ferrari can do it, then to see that resin heavy crap (only in some bits mind you!) on the Stradale. Some of the other Stradale bits are quite well done actually (the CF cap between the intake resonators looks great and is a fairly difficult machined precision piece!) I can imagine the F1 guy's amazement when they found a bunch of drunk marketing guys passed out in their lab one morning. "Dear god, what happened!" |

You're expecting perfection in a Ferrari? You've never owned one, have you? Ferrari owners are like Jaguar owners, masochists, only ones with deeper pockets. |

What I have heard from a very reliable source is that the carbon bits in the Carrera GT are FAR superior to those of the Enzo. Ferrari has some really poor carbon (aside from the tub, which is made by the F1 folks), as far as aesthetics. I saw the Challenge Stradale and the mirror had creases everywhere. I understand creases are inevitable in complicated shapes, but no efforts were made to make them more inconspicuous. Even in places where one would not expect it, you would see poor layout. I'm probably going to see an Enzo within the week so it will be interesting to see first hand. Porsche's carbon, on the other hand is extremely well made according to the person who brought this up to me. Cheers |

Doc, I've heard the same from people who have ridden in both. Quite frankly, I'm torn. I would love the visceral feel of the F40, but I also love NA engines. Something about forced induction that makes one feel like there's something missing... Nice pics Ben! I would've loved to get on the list for Carrera GTs. I think they're going to shape up to be fantastic cars. Apparently there have already been sightings of some on the road here in CA, Bay Area. Cheers |

Karen (my better half) had the chance to go around VIR with Terry Borchellar in an F40 and Road Atlanta in an F50. Her comments were that the F50 is nice, but the F40 is more of a true track car. Still, to me, the 288 GTO is the best of the lot. At least it was really built as a race car that could be driven on the street, not the other way around. |

No Doubt the Carrara GT will be impressive. Everything I've seen about it makes it the first P-car I am *really* excited about. Wish it had a 12 though, I don't like V-10's sound. |

JRV, Of course Panorama would say that, it is a Porsche Club mag after all. Two CGT's were crashed during testing at the nurburgring. I bet it will not even be close between the Enzo and CGT when it is finally released. It is interesting that Porsche touts the F1 tech that was integrated into the CGT when Porsche doesn't even race in F1. Greg |

Or: The new Porsche "Carrera GT". Porsche was issued 70 new patents bringing Formula 1 Technology to a street car. Pano Mag claims this is Porsches answer to the Enzo, and the Enzo won't come out on top of this contest. ?????????? |

Simple, beautiful, all buisness and all carbon.
With no clothes! (early wheels? early car? all the bits are there...)

There is no radio, and no provisions or wiring for one. The car measured 82db at idle, and *104db* at full song. It has no ABS. F50's block and intake/exhaust cams: You can see it's a 5-valve motor. Supposedly good to 10,500rpm. I belive it.
Shifter pattern reverse location is the reverse of the 360, and I think, better.

You're right about the unique race car structure of the 50. It's a car of the old race driver's dreams. It has no traction control, no power steering, no power brakes, nothing but the driver himself can master this car. And when you do reach the point where you can flog this beast and keep it under complete control, it rewards you with a feeling of accomplishment that exceeds anything else I've ever driven. |

That's amazing! Any more tidbits about it? This thing is a mystery to me. Kind of epitomizes the Ferrari mystique to me. |

The F50 also has something that to my knowlege NO OTHER road going Ferrari has ever had... The engine and transmission are structual members of the chassis, and the suspension bolts to the above entirely via rigid steel rod-ends. All are very much race-car technology (from Formula 1 no less.) And the F50 reportedly vibrates to match (the idea of which I like!) The enzo went back to flexable mounting and subframes (heavier.) The F50 will remain an amazing car for decades to come, no doubt. Best! Ben |

I know the Enzo is a better performing car than the F-50. IMHO the F-50 look's better. |
