I got mine at the local fastener specialty shop. Ironically they didn't have the metrics (go figure) so I went with the 7/8" X (approx)1/32" thick washers instead. Diameters are nearly identical and the thickness mic's out to about 1 mm instead of 1.5 mm stock. No leaks. 1978 308 GTS DJ |

Hi Henry, May sound a little strange but NAPA stocks several diffierent sizes of metric copper washers - determine required dimensions, have them pull out their paper catalog & may be able to find something that fits. Usually about 50-80 cents/ea. Failing this if you're desparate many of the prepackaged replacement oil pan drain plugs for import cars come with copper washers (in various sizes).

Alternatively, heat them up with a blow torch until they glow red. Then let them cool slowly. The result is a rejuvinated/softened copper washer. I used to have oil seeping past the ones on the mail oil lines. Now bone dry. |

Dennis McCann is good for stuff like that. When the machine shop lost some little bits and pieces to my engine (valve spring base washer for example), McCann came through for me. Also, any good Fiat parts vendor should have them. I don't know any places in WI, but Chris Obert should have them in Santa Cruz, CA (www.fiatplus.com). A part number would help but if you can describe the size, they should be able to get it right. |

Does anyone know of a source to buy metric copper washers? These would be to replace the copper washers in the fuel system, drain plugs, etc. These would be an assortment of them in a plastic tray. |
