Two thumbs up for Kevin Marcus's "F-50"! Sounds fantastic, too!

Mostly i only go to places that i have been before in other cars - just because of potholes, getting lost, etc. with no spares and all that jazz, a lot of fun could because really suckie really fast. http://www.autosensations.com/video3/as-f50.mpg was the last timei was driving around a track, although i just put some hoosiers on there so next time should be much better. I have very little time to 'sit back and just drive cars'. I dont consdier it a dialy driver (z06 vette is), and the cost of doing that is kind of stupid in terms of depreciation through milage and wear/tear on car. The car does not drive like any other car i have, including my f355 challenge race car. the steering is precise, the throttle is amazing and the brake pedal is stiff as a board. One of the neat things with the throttle is that when you are, say, half way down, most cars are giving you 90% of what they have got. But the f50 is only giving you 50%. Put the foot down all the way and you really get going. LIke I said in a previous thread, you should get a great experience with an upcoming game for the xbox that will feature many fferrari's: the audio will be from my car and it sounded really, really well recorded and isolated. the worst part of the car in "city traffic" is that you need to be a few gears out of whack to keep a constant speed. Try to drive 30 mph in 2nd gear and it's "on throttle, off throttle, on throttle, off throttle". It's almost better to intentionally dump the torque the car has and put it in 3rd or 4th just so that you can keep the car maintained at a constant 'civil' speed easier. but overall, given the number of days there are, tiem available, and driving, i would say that i do drive it but it's one of many cars to chose from so it's not like you drive it every day. besides, that takes away half the fun. As I already mentioned, some of my favorite things are krispy kreme donut runs, and the imfamous parking lot that attracted people to it: "woah what a cool car! what is it is?" converse with them awhile pretenting to gawk along with them and then eventually 'well nice meeting you i gotta get moving' and then get in and drive away. snotty yes? fun? yes. Finally, i think it's incredibly important for sharing. that is, its important to let other people get their thriill ride and have some fun in the car as well (given some trust barrier and all that). So I do a bit of that sort of thing too.

No offense, but I've never been impressed by F50's. Too bizarre for my taste. I'm not crazy about F40's either, but other f-car owners I know (and whose opinions I respect) say they're awesome on the road. For the $$ I'd rather have a new 575 and a 360 and a 456 and maybe a late 60's 275 or 330. If I had a 288 on the other hand.... |

I asked this question for two reasons... 1. if you have a F50 and another f-car in your collection, would you find yourself driving the other car because its less of a hassel? just to jump in and take off. Don't have to worry about value, parking, all that. 2. When you do drive a F50 what is it like? How loud, comfortable, what car is it most like driving? I know one lucky Dude has a F50 on F-chat. Do we have any others out there? |

I wont stay his name, but the member on this board who owns one told us that he drives it to Walmart occasionally Ive met Paul Frame and he indeed drive it daily for a while. If I owned an F50 I would drive it daily, rain or shine, and track the hell out of it!

Hi Mark.. Paul Frame, Who use to race Ferrari Challenge from TX, was the first US owner to receive a F50 (yellow).. He used it as a daily driver and his wife ever drove it to the supermarket occassionally. |

If you own a F50, how much do you drive it? What's it best for? Is it comfortable to drive, ride in? How is it in city traffic? Do you take them to the track? Is it a fun track car? F50 is the best looking Ferrari I've ever seen. I wonder if its like the 288GTO which most guys just use for a show car. Thanks |
