You know that if you never opened the engine cover Ferraris would be a lot more reliable :-)

I think this is the biggest problem with Ferraris, we all want to look at the engine too much ... and thus spend way to much time looking over everything, instead of just driving :-)

Pete
ps: Who has the record for the longest time with the engine cover closed on their Ferrari???

I gotta give Frank props for being able to live for 30 days with only what fits in a Ferrari's luggage!

Frank,
Congratulations on the trip... I don't know if you remember, but I was thinking about doing a similar trip from Boston to SF a while back... well that never happened... oh well. Hopefully, we'll be able to see some of your pictures/memories from the adventure soon.

I second John's thoughts! I intend to do the exact same adventure in my future Ferrari!

Please post the stories and pictures!

Sounds awesome! that would be fun to get together with an F-car buddy/buddies and do a week trip of some sort-one problem no F-car yet.

Glad you had a good trip, that is great to hear about your F355 being reliable.

Post some pics soon if you have any...

Way to go Frank! I plan on doing this next year after I get my 355. Might be cool to share some tips and ideas for places to go, things to see, places to stay, etc. Sounds like a blast...

HI everyone Im back!

Got home last night from my cross country run. Went coast-to-coast then up into Canada, down through Chicago then back to home.

Way too much to write here, but what an incredible experience! No map, no cell phone, no e-mail I might just right a book about the experience.

If anyone has any doubts regarding 355 reliability, let me tell you what, put them to rest. 30 days on the road and all I did was put gas in the car!

In Arizona I noticed a small (and I mean tiny) oil leak coming from my valve cover gasket. No biggy, but it was dropping near the timing belt cover. When I got to LA I did an oil change at the dealer and had the gasket replaced. Appears that during my recent 30K service the tech was in a hurry and did not align the gasket properly. Other than that the car was flawless. BTW-F of Bev Hills has a way cool license plate frame and they gave me one for free!

No exterior damage to the car either, thanks to the scrap shields I installed and the 3M clear bra. Suggest them to anyone who has a 348/355.

Much to do for the next few days more details later. Did I miss anything? (lol)

Martin you have mail.
