For what it's worth, the same picture was in Forza recently saying it was the 456 successor. The long nose was said to be an attempt to make a mid engined, front mounted car with a V12. The same setup as the Z8, just a longer engine. |

That looks like a photochop job to me. Look at the difference in lighting b/w the fron wheel and the rear, not to mention they just look pasted onto the car. Just looks like someone crossed a 575M photo w/ a 456 nose, and 360 NGT wheels. I don't believe its a new model at all. |

I agree with Martin. Super ugly if its the real wheel base and not a disguise. Probably would not be a very big seller IMHO.

Marcus - your information is incorrect - Someone with a very close Factory insider friend said that, that is actually Ferrari testing the FX V12. It is an FX test mule. |

agree w/ cheeseman. they regularly put the insides of the new car into the body of an old one for testing. the fact that it will be a 2+2, the a pillar will have to be closer to the front axle in final form in order to accomodate the rear seats and keep within the size envelope of the current car. |

i think the super long nose is a disguise and that this is actually an fx test mule otherwise why the nose? a 456 is still no bigger than a 550. all this is in cavallino #128. |

We knew this car was scheduled to replace the current 456M, but we didn't know quite when. The appearance of this well-finished prototype means it will happen soon, perhaps this fall. The distance between the door pillar and the front axle is nearly 16 in. more than on the 456. The rear overhang and rear-quarter light are longer as well. All of that combines for a weight distribution that's better than that of the front-heavy 456. Improved balance, an ultra-lightweight aluminum space frame and a 475-hp 6.0-liter V12 should give the new Ferrari supercar performance. |
