Question for the admins....

I am a member of several gaming boards - Can't unnecessary posts that ruined this thread simply be deleted? Also, can you ban unwanted people that wander in here?

Just a thought.

I used the suction cup on the hood, with a wire loop around the entire apparatus as a safety harnass in case the suction cup lost its grip. But after a while I realized the wind blowing into the microphone masked the sound of the engine, so I moved the mount to the inside of the windshield. Worked much better for the sound, even though you end up seeing bug splat on the windshield. But better that than no engine sounds

Jay, how are you going to mount that camera? Pls post a picture, I'm very interested.

I have a German "tripod" which I can mount to the wind shield (suction mount) for the DV camera to shoot my drives. Works nicely. But on the hood?

Enjoy the Furkapass! Holderadio!

Wow this thread took a nasty 180 degree turn...

Anyway, today I figured out a way to mount my video camera to the hood of the 360 Spider without damaging the paint, and without the risk of the camera flying off. And tomorrow I plan to drive the Furka Pass in Switzerland... Ergo, should make for some interesting video. More to follow...

Jay
What a great trip. I had the opportunity to take my Mondial when stationed in Germany at Ramstein. I wish everyone could drive their Ferrari in Europe - it really gives an appreciation of just how great they are. For me it was not just the Autobahns, but the secondary roads where the balance of the chassis and the concert of the engine and gearbox really showed itself.
Not to mention going to Ferrari Racing Days at the 'ring with 1000 other Ferraris!!!
Dang - I'm homesick! Sounds like a terrific trip!! Look forward to pics and videos!

Michael, great pictures. I'm surprised to see an F-40 with Swiss plates (looks like Ticino to me, but hard to tell). Was it a regular license plate or a special one like (U, V, Z)?

As far as I know the F-40 is outlawed in Switzerland for registration (not for driving when it came from a different country) because of its wing and its emission (sound that is).

I was lucky enough to date a high profile actress at one time......very high profile, very attractive.........but I don't go around saying......Oh I date a lot of actresses......I dated one......for about 3 weeks

Amazing, we have to really appreciate the germans for the Autobahn and the French for their amazing Autotoutes, best roads in the world. I am in Geneva at present and can tell you there are plenty of lovely exotics to be seen here, and all being driven daily. Including the dirtiest 360 ever seen - love it. Think Yellow might be the new red though.

I don't think most Ferrari owners are afraid, just wise not to drive like an idiot on public roads. How much control do you have at 190mph on two wheels? How's your brakes from 190-0?

Actually European Ferrari Rental asked me if I would be kind enough to provide them with a copy of my video and pics for their web site. For a "free" ride in an Enzo, hell yeah I will share my video and pics... So probably in a month or two, a few video clips will be on their web site.

Arrived in Germany last Friday, and European Ferrari Rental was waiting for me at the airport with their new 575M F1. I spent 3 days driving this car, and I must say, this is the fastest car I have ever driven in my life. Last year I drove the F40, but the 575M F1 feels faster to me. Anyway, I hit the fastest speed I have ever driven in my life on Monday while driving the Autobahn from Bavaria to Bad Wurttemberg: I hit 300 km per hour, or about 186 mph. The amazing thing was not so much the speed, but rather how quickly the 575M ACHIEVED this speed. I can truly say, this machine is the King of the Autobahn.

Also, here is a good story. On Saturday I was driving to the Chiemsee from Munich and happened across a new BMW 6 series Coupe on the Autobahn. We raced a few times and I was really impressed how fast it was. So we pulled off at a rest stop, turns out the guy driving is an engineer with BMW, and he put his finger across his lips and said, SSSSHHHHHHH, (this is a prototype, and has the M6 engine). No wonder.

So, today drove a 360 Spider down to Switzerland and had another great day... When i get home, I will post pics. But just wanted to say how impressed I am with the 575M F1. This car is remarkable in ever way. The F1 system is SO much better than in the 360 F1, in my opinion.

One more detail. I got a ride in the Enzo on the Autobahn yesterday. European Ferrari Rental just got their Enzo, but it may not be available for rental anytime soon. Turns out they had several "significant" customer car wrecks this year and they are wrestling with their insurance company to get the car insurance for customers to drive. But Herr Klotz was nice enough to give me a ride yesterday, and of course I video taped it. We "only" hit 270 km per hour, but it really did not feel all that fast in that car. And this may sound strange, but inside the Enzo really did not sound all that much different from the 575M F1, believe it or not. I guess that just says alot about how good that 575M sounds... well, same sound, but just LOUDER in the Enzo.

Just arrived in Switzerland and gotta go. Pics to follow when I arrive back home and get everything in order.
