bill, (o anyone?) why would you spend a substantial premium for an 04 when there are about 30 spyders(or more) listed in the market letter that could be had for real money. what is the value prop in a new "hugely produced" production car? | ||

Dan, 04 is just around the corner and from what I can gather, the wait for Spiders is still around two years. Frank, I hate the idea of paying over sticker but as long as they continue to command a premium and I can get one soon I am ok with it. Given that 02's are still around 200k I would think that it would be a while before an 04 would get down to 195k Any suggestions on color combos with resale in mind? 996TT values are in the toilet right now and I don't want to get hit with that much depreciation again. I love the Spider, but you would have to be on crack to pay 249 for that car now.I see US cars with low mileage sitting in the 190's. | ||

My local dealer just sold an 03 Red/Tan for 249k, lasted about three days. I have an 04 spider Nov build Black/Cuoio (pretty loaded) gearshift, and I have been offered way over sticker by someone I know who can not even get on the waiting list. 03 coupes are getting over sticker, some as hight a 20k over, for could make up the over sticker cost that way. None of us here really knows when the replacement is coming, most people will tell you not till 07, and my bet there will still be people on the waiting list when the model ends. | ||

A dealer in NY I know has a Yellow/black spyder with yellow piping 200 miles asking 225K. It remains unsold. | ||

I have the opportunity to get an 04 360 Spider for 20K over sticker with delivery in Jan/Feb and am not sure if this is a good deal. I would be trading/selling out of my 03 coupe and would really only keep the Spider until the 360 replacement arrives. Given current 03 Spider values it seems that even at 20k over sticker I would still be able to sell the spider without losing too much if any value. I would want a different combo from my current red/tan and am curious as to other highly desirable combos that would make it easy to sell. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill |
