>> I would look to something other than a GT2, now from the factory you can order a TT with a upgrade in HP for $11,000, so you would have the HP of the GT2 at $128,900 and not $180,000 Plus, having said that the GT2 will be ultra rare. << Actually, the X50 PowerKit option is $17,700 and is rated at 444 HP which is slightly less than the GT2's 456 HP. The real difference, however, is in the cost of the two cars. I have yet to see a GT2 being sold for under $200,000. I guess the price of exclusivity is much more than the difference in HP. |

Beside my Modena I own a tricked out 930 and a Viper GTS. The Modena is my daily driver. I put on over 4000 miles this past winter. I am a lover of Porsches and have owned several but nothing compares to driving a newer F car. Everyone in Florida seems to own a Porsche. There are so many of them I can't tell the models apart anymore. No one looks at P cars here but everyone wants to talk about my 360. Before you make a decision read the article comparing the TT and 360 in the June issue of Road & Track. |

If I was going to spend around 200k on a car I would have say stay with Ferrari, or build a specialty car. |

Regarding the F 40 I've never considered it because I have some very personal issues and expiriences with the car. I've not yet had the time to test the 575, but I'd rather wait for the entirely new model due in a couple of years, hoping that it might address the points that I'm not happy with on the 550/575. I've seen a black Murcielago and it looks stunning, but the whole Lamborghini thing doesn't really suit my personality. If I go for the Modena I will probably follow the route taken by Ernesto and de-cat the car, to gain some hp and also for the sound (I will also install Tubi exhausts). The only real doubt that I have now is weather or not I will miss the admittedly higher straight line performance of the GT2. I'm leaning more and more on the Ferrari side though (after all mine is a family of Ferraristi for a couple of generations). |

Have you tried a P-Ruf? Had the pleasure in riding in one last Friday and it was amazing! That's if you do not want a Ferrari-just an idea |

Hi Luigi, good to see you on the board again. If you need ultimate performance why aren't you considering an F40. Its the natural answer. Also have you driven the 575MM yet. Supposedly stupendously fast - it may not be comparable to the GT2, but may do the trick all the same. Manu |

As some of you might remember, it's been some time now that I'm thinking about selling my 996 GT2 for a 360 Modena. I was waiting for the right car to come out and was still very uncertain. I was looking for a black six speed model possibly with cuoio naturale interior with low mileage.I didn't want to order one new because I would've had to wait for at least 8-10 months. This weekend I am going to see a Daytona black 6 sp. Modena with cuoio naturale interior and Daytona seats. The car has 1800 km (1100 miles) on it and is a 3/2002 model. So now I really have to make a decision! My heart is for Ferrari (even though I love and respect also Porsches), but will I miss the undeniably higher performance of the GT2? Your help would be greatly appreciated. |
