Hugh, You must remember, the 360 modena's all aluminium chassis was always designed with the convt'l in mind..The hard top was added to the chassis after the frame had already proven its rigidity Although the coupe was sold first, that chassis was always for the topless version. I think the coupe and the sunroof version may be equal in rigidity. |

Ric, True, a targa top, spyder, and or t-top will make the greatest difference in chassis rigidity, as seen by the targa NSX's that feature an added 70lbs. of chassis reinforcement to compensate. However, as I implied, in the "real world" the addition of the sunroof may not make an appreciabole difference, but at the track, same car one w/ another w/out sunroof, the sunroof equipped car will flex more than the non-eqipped car, how much? I'd be hard pressed to say for sure. Hence the qualification of my point as more academic than applied. |

My recollection is that that option was short lived. The car at Miller (silver or titanium with green leather, yeah baby) was an early car. |

I ordered my car in March..it is now in the paint shop due to arrive late June. Sunroof was an option I declined... BTW I went for the F1 as I have never owned anything but manual cars... Nick |

"Making an academic argument here: Sunroof = big hole in roof = loss of structural rigidity and more a-pillar flex, as well as cowl shake. " The sunroof does not significantly reduce chassis rigitiy. A hole in the center doesn't add much flex. A T-Roof, Targa or Spider does affect things much more, but the sunroof doesn't. It's the same effect as adding lightening holes to a beam: the hole is not in a stressed area. |

The sunroof looks really small on them, they had one at miller motor cars, they might stil have it actually. |

The sunroof on the 360 Modena was ordered extremely rarely and it will not affect resale. If anything, it will probably be a bit more difficult to sell one with a sunroof. |

Making an academic argument here: Sunroof = big hole in roof = loss of structural rigidity and more a-pillar flex, as well as cowl shake. I would take a non-sunroof car over a sunroofed car if I was looking for the highest degree of chassis rigidity, which in the real world may or may not make an appreciable difference, during track days, the difference is more apparent. Not to mention the creaking and rattling often associated w/ sunroofs on all marques. |

Hi Ron Not with me it wouldn't, but that's just my opinion. In terms of resale it would probably be a hygiene factor- the reason why you do, or do not, buy the car, rather than governing how much it's worth. It looks like a BIG sunroof, and because the car is quite low you look down on it in all it's glory. Not. Kevin |

Kevin, Do you think that being not too many people went for this option, it will boost up resale in the future? I would just love to know what you guys think. I'm not looking for a sunroof or anything, just what to know.. |

Ron One of the guys in our FOC area group has this option on his 360. It is a Scaglietti thing, and there is a picture of it in the 360 Modena brochure (p22 in my copy). IMO it looks damned odd and I'm not surprised it hasn't been popular. |

Ron: Yes it used to be an option. I honestly don't know if it still is. |

I remember when the F360 first came out, it was to be sold as a coupe, a spyder and an option to get a large sunroof because they were going to do away with the targa.. Did anyone ever see a sunroof option when they looked into getting their car. |
