I was waiting for someone to comment on that (cars + rain), heck they aren't made of sugar last I checked. Altho as stated elsewhere on this site I'm certainly more catuios about taking mine out in the wet.

Whoever is responsible, thanks for posting these GREAT PICS!

It appears to have braved the elements quite well.

I am surprised to see some of these Ferraris in the rain. I wouldn't think many F50s have been in the rain.

I think the 0-100 time of 5.7 seconds says enough about the CLK-GTR.

I believe that this was the 3rd annual event, and that it grows every year. The pics below are just a sample of cars in attendance. One can only imagine what the turnout might have been with "sunny" weather -- we'd probably all be sporting sunburns like Martin . What a difference one day makes in Florida, right?

I kind of felt sorry for the owners, however, when it came time for their cars to be judged -- the interiors of those beautiful cars were getting rather soaked .

What a shame with the weather. We had a charity sale scheduled on Sunday and had great weather, in fact I have a sunburn from that day and Saturday was such a miserable day.
Hope this will be again next year and I will try to make it.

So many great cars!

It wasn't just LeMans. It was having a problem with slight inclines at over 180mph, it seemed this situation brought about liftoff. I'm pretty sure the most notorious of the flips was at LeMans though, it did something like 3 backflips before coming down in the woods on its wheels. The driver was alright.

Great pictures! Looked like a pretty good turnout for a rainy day.

The M-B CLK GTR is an interesting car. Didn't it do back flips in Le Mans a few years ago?

Thanks for posting the pics, Marcus...

Took some also while there (I'll post a couple on Monday). Inspite of the steady drizzle, it was a very enjoyable event, wasn't it? Took Friday off to drive down and visit Jon & Carlos about servicing the 308, and then spent the rest of the afternoon "hanging out" at FoCF and meeting some of their fine staff. They sent 4 of their cars over to the show as well.

The one pic of the yellow 360 belongs to a good friend of mine here -- he's one 1st place in other events as well.

We'll have to register in time for next year's event -- and hopefully the weather will be a little more accomodating .

BTW, nice pics Marcus. You guys see the soft top on the F50 instead of using that bulky hard top, cool.

I've got a whole slew of information kicking around at home about the CLK GTR because my mom works for MBNA. They only made a handful of them, maybe like 25. They also often bring in in excess of 1.25 million when owners switch hands. To put in in perspective, it would rape a McLaren F1 in anything but top speed (geared much lower). It runs a mind boggling 9.4 sec 1/4 mile (compared to roughly 11.2 for the McLaren). I don't think they give employee discounts for them though so I don't see one anytime soon in my future.

The event (show) will be held this Saturday (the 23rd) between 9:00AM and 5:00PM in "downtown" Mt. Dora, Florida (approximately 20 miles north of Orlando, off I-4 toward the West).

Here's the link for further details:

mt. dora festival of exotic cars

Nearly all of the hotels, motels, etc. are booked in the heart of Mt. Dora, but Lake Mary / Heathrow and Orlando have plenty of lodging to choose from.

Just found out about this event the other day (too late, however, for me to register ). Friend who informed me (and has registered his 360) said that there were already over 170 exotics registered!

Won't be able to join in on the Friday drive, etc. -- but my wife and I will be at the show this Saturday -- can't wait!

Anyone else going to be there?
