Klasse "All-in-One" does have a little polish in it. But you only use it if you need to remove a swirl, scratch, oxidation, blemish, ect.. If your paint is otherwise perfect, you use the Klasse " High-Gloss Sealant Glaze". I use the former once a year and the later twice a year in between.

I'm very happy with Zaino and have yet to find a reason to switch. Last long and looks great!

I believe Sal Zaino refers to his product as a non-abrasive chemical polish. It fills the cracks.

Hans, I have been using Zymol wax since I got involved with cars. It is so nice to use, it is easy to apply and remove and nurishes the paint unlike any other wax. Its results are amazing everytime...and I love how it smells. I use it on my Ferrari and my daily driver VW. My VW has 150k miles and looks brand new.

Dave,
I believe the parameters of this thread were clearly defined; RELATIVE to car detailing, wax is NOT considered abrasive....namely, its function is not to remove any surface contamination, scratches, paint etc.....if you want to do this then you need a POLISH....polishes will remove contamination/ surface imperfections either by chemical processes or by physical removal of surface layers (normally using some metal oxide derivative.)
Furthermore, this question specifically related to waxes.....which is covered in the FREE section of the ebook download.

Hans,

In that sense Klasse would also be abrasive, as on the label it states (from memory) "removes oxidation", it's either covering it up or actaully removing some form of layer.

You mileage may vary.

Jason: I realize that wax isn't *supposed* to be abrasive, but wax products like Meguair's Gold Class take paint off!!

I think I'll look into Klasse.

Of course wax is abrasive, what substance known to man isn't?

Its just a matter of relativity.

wax is not abrasive....if it is, then it's a polish not a wax. If you are looking to protect the integrity of the paint, then Klasse all in one followed by klasse sealant glaze will perform this function. To increase the appearance of paint dept, apply a coat of wax (on top of the klasse)....Zaino & Pinnacle Souveran are very high quality....high quality waxes only last for a few washes before reapplication is required.
If you want to get a really good understanding of car detailing etc. head over to www.autopia-carcare.com There is an electronic book download available (it is THE definative how-to detailing guide)...incl older 1 stage paints etc.....

Zaino, Zaino, Zaino........... This stuff is the absolute best polish in the world!!!!!!! Amazing process, amazing results. I've used it on my Black 355 and it looks like the paint is so deep and wet that it's going to fall off the car. I also use it now on my pearl yellow NSX and it's just unreal. If you guys aren't using Zaino, you're missing just how awesome your Ferraris could really look! Check out his site at www.zainobros.com

Guess I'm not the only one with red paint on the wax rag. Thought somehow my paint was f'd up. Does this mean that my car was repainted, or is this the way they are from factory?

My 328 has one-stage paint too. I use Griot's Garage best of show wax. It does a great job and no red whatsoever on my towel.

Hans:
Have you considered using a acrylic polymer based product like Zaino/Klasse? Klasse All-In-One will go straight onto your finish with current wax in place and bond the new polymer onto your car. I've had nice results with this product on my Pcars, and am considering switching the Fcar over too.
Best of Luck!

The paint on my '75 is *very* thin, and I would like to wax it w/o removing any more paint. I've tried Liqui-Tech, Meguair's Gold Class, and a couple of others I can't remember off of the top of my head. The wipe rag is always red. :-(

Saw a thread about wax from back in April, but the subject of LEAST abrasive was not brought up.

Ideas?
