Thank you for the compliments, gentlemen. Yes, the paint really is excellent on this car--of the 12 or so 308's I looked at, this one has the best paint--and it is all original. Believe it or not, when these photos were shot, I hadn't even washed or waxed it as yet--that's the shape it was in at the time of delivery the day before. Once again, thank you!

Frank- I knew that. I was talking about 308 (not GT4) 328, 348,355,360. I as an American buy my cars for me and no one else. And yes I am a gear head and enjoy my cars very much. I would be happier if people on the road didnt even notice the car to tell you the truth.

Mark, that's incorrect. All of the Euro spec 246 and 308 GT4s were marqued as Dinos even after FNA starting having U.S. spec cars re-marqued as Ferraris. Europeans had no problem with buying a car with a Dino badge where us Americans had to have the little horsey on our cars or we would not fork over the cash. Which confirms a difference in our two cultures. Europeans tend to buy what they like where us Americans will only buy what we perceive others will like. That's one of the reasons you see all these low mileage garage queens in the U.S.A.. A high roller will buy the Ferrari not because he is a gearhead and wants to drive the car, but because he perceives others expect him to own such a car. After the trophy status wears off, the car sits and detriorates

None of the Euro cars are marked as Dino either. FNA must have some serious power!! Proud to be American and drive an 8 cyl Ferrari !!!

Jim, while I do like a good argument, if you will research it yourself you will find that not only did Enzo intend that all his V8 cars be called Dino, so did the company Ferrari Spa. The 308GT4 was originally badged as a Dino and only changed after cars sit in the showroom for more than a year unsold. Only after the insistence of FNA were the Dino badges changed to Ferrari ones. The 308, 328 and 348 were also originally conceived to be badged as Dinos as well. Again, FNA stepped in and told Ferrari Spa that us Americans wouldn't buy the cars unless they were badged as Ferarris. Again, Ferrari Spa gave in and stuck Ferarri badges on the cars. I like the Dino name myself and would love my 348 just as much with a Dino badge as I do now with the Ferrari badging. By the way, I like that white Dino of yours ! Looks good.

I think Frank would be the only member of Dinochat.com. Where did this come from Frank, all of a sudden every reference you make to a V8 car is now Dino? My car doesn't have single Dino badge on it, nor does yours. Are you just trying to rake muck since we haven't had a good argument since the license plate frame?

Frank--Now you called my old car a Dino. Do you have a secret Dino fetish? From the amount of 8 cyl owners on this website we might want to change the name to Dinochat.com

Frank, you sure get around. You should make up "Nice Dino" vinal decals and stick them on all V8's you see. ;) Lol

Everything is great Ron, how about yourself? Thanks for all the help, Im glad Bill is happy. Ive had 365GTB/4 on the brain lately, if this economy picks up a bit, LOOK OUT!! Ill keep you in tune on shows and what not, the last one was pretty worthless. Although I did get to drive the 355 for 100 miles or so, so it was a great day. Getting closer to that 360?

Well, after 10 years of wishing, reading /studying about 308's, I finally bought one--and it arrived yesterday! What a joyous moment! It's a beautiful red/ tan '85 QV with 32k miles on it. The first drive was a trip and a half ! Now I really feel a part of Ferrari Chat. I'd like to thank all of you chatters who've answered a number of my inquiries about 308's prior to my purchase--the input really helped in my assessment of cars.
