I'm glad I have my body guards BodD and RonInDallas to look out for me. It's funny, those are some of the few users to actually meet me in person. Man, I need to meet more users, we could conquer anything. ;)

Fred, you're right and I apologize. But it seems like he keeps using this forum as his advertising tool.... it just gets a little old.

Andrew, Andy, Andster.... you spend more time here than you do on your own site. Head home, man.... and stay there.

Greg, the directory sounds like a good idea.

Rob, I know that I'll be interested in seeing this feature come to life. When I lived in VA, I spent a considerable amount of time "looking" for VA users. This feature would also negate the need for users to post those "Anyone from X?" threads.

Actually, the spammers can already get them easily off the bio pages... which is why I haven't listed my email address. I'd recommend replacing all "@"s with " at "... then its easy enough for any of us to use, but much harder for the screen scrapers to collect. JMHO.

yes, I can easily do this. I would just start out with basic information, so as not to intrude anyone's privacey. Also, users could request to be removed from the list. The e-mail would also not be on the main list page, so that spamers couldn't easily extract them.

Rob:

If you decide to provide the directory, I think that the listing should be optional as to what is contained in that directory, to give the member an opportunity to decide whether to be listed or not.

I failed to mention, I also have the ability for user groups so you could make your own group for FL and you would be the moderator. You would be in control of who joined and who could not. This would also allow you to send group e-mails, create your own forum for group members only to post in. Even have a forum that is only visible to your group. Its also on my site at the very bottom of my forum page.

My site offers exactly what you want. However, its only been up for 3 months now so I do not have the numbers this site has. Its not hard. You can even sort all the members by date joined, #of post, location, e-mail, etc. If your interested check it out www.ferrariforum.net

Rob, I think there needs to be a FC Member directory. As people sign-up as members, thier names, locations, and other "required info" is posted to the online directory and can be sorted by name, location, etc. It would make it much easier to locate members to arrange an outing.

As an example, I'm trying to find those FC members in the northern FL area...Tallahassee, Panama City, Jacksonville, Gainsville, etc.

Any thoughts?
