Frank, unfortunately, unless this is a California only change, next time your policy will be renewed, you'll see a new paragraph (exclusion 10). The actual text is (interesting part in bold):

"Also in this part, we have added exclusion 10. Specifying that the policy does not provide liability coverage for bodily injury or property damage arising out of the participation in any racing or speed contest or when using the insured vehicle at a track or a course designed for racing"

And then:

Exclusion 14: "...we will not provide coverage under this part for loss to your auto arising out of the participation in any racing or speed contest; when using using the insured vehicle at a track or course designed for racing; or in practice or preparation for any use of this type"

I'm still following all the leads that this board provided. Unfortunately, all the insurance companies I called don't openly claim they cover track days, although some don't have precise exclusion language in their contracts.

By the way, many thanks for the answers!

My Allstate policy will cover track events as long as it's not an event of "...speed or time..." .

Most ins companies exclude only 'competitive or timed events'. The slippery hands people (ALLSTATE) and GEICO the exceptions I have found.

I know of somebody that totalled a 328 on a DE and had Chubb I was told it took over two months to get it settled but they eventually paid. They may not take you again if you make a habit out of this would be my guess.

I have an insurance broker so it is possible the track insurance was by someone else. I have not talked directly with an insurance company for years.

I use Chubb too, but they told me track coverage is not available yet in NY. Has this changed?

I use Chubb. Fine so far, but then again haven't needed them yet either. No track coverage though -- they would do it but didnot seem worth the price. I do not track it, but if I did I would add it.

Oh, Sh*t I use allstate. Of ocurse they told me nothing. AS a matter of fact they told me the 360 did not exist I must own a 456, 550 or 355. I am still trying to straighten it out.

Does anybody have insurance they like in general for an F-car.

Try Sentry Insurance. They covered me after a PCA on track incident. No hassles.

I have just realized that my insurance company (allstate) no longer cover cars when used on a race track. My broker confirmed that if anything happens, I'm on my own.

Do you guys know an insurance company providing coverage for non competitive track events and track driving schools?

I'm aware of http://www.americancollectorsins.com/driversed.htm
but IMHO, it is a very bad deal (1.5% premium a year, 20% deductible, covers only your car)

Thanks
