anyone know of a source for the vitaloni side mirror glass that was used in the US 328's? (flag style mirror, which is a slightly rounded rectange...or as peter put it, the boxy shape :-)) my glass had measles, and after removing it and finding out at a glass shop that the blue tint wasn't going to be possible, I stuck it back in. sadly, the adhesive that appeared to be adequate couldn't hold up to the 117 degree temp between LA and vegas last week - it may have been the speed the mirror was moving, but I'll take the 5th on the details. anyway, if someone knows of a place to get the glass, or a junk mirror assembly with good glass, please toss me an email to [email protected] thanks, phil p.s. automod web site is: http://yp.bellsouth.com/sites/automod/ |

I had a sneaking suspicion that's who was the culprit. Bastards. |

The US mirrors on the 328 do have a different footprint and hole pattern than the Euro mirrors. You will need to have the old holes filled and new ones made; result: repainting. I do believe, that the switch and wiring will fit directly. Mind you, I am talking about the 328 - the 308 could be different. BretM: The US DOT is to blame for the mirror issue, not Ferrari. brgds Kurt |

Why did they even switch the mirrors between the Euro and US models? Sometimes I wonder about Ferrari. |

Peter, I have an '85 Euro QV - I would be happy to take some measurements or even draw you a pattern of the base of my mirrors if it would be helpful. Let me know. I agree with you, one (of many) reason I sought out a Euro car was because of the look of the mirrors. I think the small Ferrari shield is a nice touch as well. Good luck |

Interested in changing the boxy US spec. external side mirrors for the elegant rounded Euro ones on my '85 308QV.Is the base footprint very different from the US spec ones? Do the holes line up or will the doors need repainting etc. Will adjusting switch for the power mirrors connect to the existing wiring OK. |
