Scott -- I believe using a gear oil with a GL-5 rating is the quasi-requirement and per the data sheet description:

http://dallnd6.dal.mobil.com/GIS/MobilPDS.nsf/26b7c4b33367a4a086256665004e4266/951b10d046e0bafd852567ba0050ec5f?OpenDocument

it seems to fit the bill.

PS The main gearbox reservoir serves both the trans and diff -- the small .17 pint reservoir is for the transfer gears.

OK,

I'm going to change the fluid in the trans and diff to Mobil 1 75-90 weight. Do I need to add any of the GM positraction additive to the .17 pints that go into the diff, or does the Mobil 1 already have the correct additive in it?

TIA
Scott
