My 456 also maks a click when pressing the brake pedal, but once I have started the engine, the noise goes away. Instead, you get a hissing sound every time you step on the brake. The dealer said both scenarios are normal. |

Phil, dealers right, the solinoid for the gear shift lever lock clicks when brake is applied. it is annoying, but can be repaired by adding a rubber stop bushing to the solinoid shaft to prevent the noise. I have done this and it does work well. Best regards, Jim |

My TR clicks if you listen close enough with the windows open. Obviously its a diffrent noise/reason than yours, but it sill makes some noise. Always has made this noise and after 26,000 miles of driving is still as smooth as butter. You have a psuedo race car not a Lexus --it will make some noise. |

My dealer is telling me that all GTA's make a click when pressing the brake pedal before selecting a gear. It is the solenoid that unlocks the gear lever. Surely on a car like this it should be silent? |
