I found two problems with my 85 Cab. The brake light switch was working intermittently, and the license plate light was out. The latter pointed out to me by a very nice police officer. |

I had the same problem with my 83. I think the "light check" system works by checking the resistance in the circuit. Break lights; check to make sure all your lights are working (my car has 4, 2 in each light). Also, check that they are the correct bulbs. Parking / driving lights; Check that all the lights are working (4 rear, 2 front, 2 rear license plate.) I don't know if the 4 side marker lights are "checked". On my car the front parking lights worked, but the bulbs were not the ones the manual said they should be. They were marked "Made in France" (just like the Cibie lights) and looked to be original. I replace them with what the manual said to use, and the warning went away.

The "check system" lights come on each time the brake, headlight or parking lights are turned on. All bulbs and lights work fine.????? |
