Best regards,
Andy

Could be loose valves - exhaust manifold leaks also cause a ticking sound. Does it go away once the engine heats up?

My 328 has been ticking too. I removed the A/C belt and now it's quiet. It was an old belt and was pretty glazed...

Hmm, better description:

its not like a knocking sound, its more like train's chucking sound on a small scale with almost a tap at the end of the "chuck" sound. werid explaination, but I think it gets the sound across..

Omar

My 328 used to tick, I was told the alternator and other belts build up static and there's no way to resolve other than replace them

Omar,
Check the emissions exhaust tubes. My 308 has a tube on each cylinder bank that diverts air to the exhaust manufold just under the exhaust valve's. I had a tiny hole eaten through the main tube and could hear a ticking sound that was quite loud and disturbing. Being that this air line is very hard to get too and the part is about $300.00 I patched the hole with a hose clamp over a strip of stainless steel, to get by to this winter.

Thnks Russ, any suggestions on how I can check them myself? (or should I I take her to a shop/if I do, what spec I should say)

I would love to take her to a f-dealership or knowledgable independant, but the nearest is 2 hrs away (with no traffic) So I am going to take her to my good friend who is a mechanic, but he doesn't know f-cars.

thanks again for the help!

I hear a werid tick at idle of my 88.5 328...but when I rev it to 2k (with the rear bonnet open) I can't hear anything (might just be the exhaust muffling the sound though.

I am guessing:
Values need adjustment? Cam needs adjustment? or worse...Cracked head? :-( Or is more description needed?
