John H. -- if the oil filter on your "speciale" 246 is mounted gasket end down and in a way where the oil can drain out towards the engine side of things, then you only have three choices for oil filters with the internal standpipe which helps minimize time to downstream pressurization at start-up (IF the Anti-Drainback-Valve also closes properly): UFI (overpriced IMHO) Baldwin B253 Fram PH2804-1 (but these have poor ADVs so the standpipe is often rendered ineffective) If the internal standpipe is not an issue for you, then the only other thing to maybe consider is the burst strength of the oil filter canister itself since most "normal" engines don't have 100+ psi on cold start up (but this is usually only a concern for the cheapy oil filters and probably not a problem with the Mobil 1 filter). Just for reference, (per the Baldwin engineer) the Baldwin B253 is designed for a working pressure up to 300 psi and a minimum burst pressure of 600 psi. |

Has anyone tried the Mobil One oil filter. Beside the Balwin I read about what else is being used? |
