Slight warning: You can't be in a hurry, as the filter seemingly takes FOREVER to dry after cleaning it. I left mine outside on a windy 100deg day for a couple of hours, and it was still quite damp.

Thanks David,

Darn to hell with the box I just found. That is excellent David --much better instructions.

Darn I think I will clean it just for the fun of it now - it has been two years...

Rob,

Thanks again.

Guess what -- I just found the box!!! I decided to look one more place and there it was -- I have the cleaning instructions etc now. I can actually wait till next year. I have only driven 18K with the filter, so no need to rush it -- somehow I thought it was to be cleaned every 20 K - but its way longer (50K) - I am, however, setting my limit to 25K.

Micheal;

For the cleaning process you spray on the cleaner let it soak then rinse the filter element out with water it is still looks dirty repeat the process. Then let it air dry then oil.

Thanks Rob, but there's one problem - I cannot find the box with the instructions.

Does anyone have the recharging instructions I can borrow or get a copy of?

Thanks.

Michael;

Just follow the instructions in the recharge kit. Key things to make sure of is to make sure the element is fully dried from the washing before reoiling it. Also when oiling the element use as little oil as possible. The most common problem that i have seen is over oiling the element. I just let a small trickle of oil onto the peak of the element then the oil will wick into the valleys.once it has set then touch up the light spots and enjoy.

I have one in my TR. Time to clean it and "recharge" it -- what is the correct way to go about doing this.

Thanks.

Michael
