I also had my clock repaired (78 308 GTS veglia quartz) fixed by Palo Alto speedometer. Cost was about $120, and took a couple weeks or so. They do good work, not cheap though... |

I recently fixed my 1972-246 Dino Veglia clock. It was difficult to get the movement out, but once out, it was easy to fix. The rotating armature had "jumped" out of its upper bearing, and with a few turns of the bearing screw, I was able to gently relocate it. I then turned the bearing screw down until it just touched the armature, and then backed off 1/8 turn. Works like a charm - keeps perfect time now for 4 weeks. The only challenge was getting the guts out. The chrome ring around the plastic case required teasing, which ultimately bent it. I replaced the clock in the dash with this chrome customization on the bottom, thus it is not easily seen. The mechanism is amazingly simple. My problem was a simple mechanical one. There is a switching transistor and coil. These would be easier to fix should they prove to be the problem. If you are mechanically / electrically inclined, do it yourself. Jim Selevan |

There are people who can convert the guts to a quartz movement if the original works are too bad. I had the clock in my Corvair converted 7 years ago and it still works fine. |

Steve, Those original Veglia clocks are expensive. Hopefully it's just a wiring connection problem. Otherwise seek out a good watchmaker who might be able to clean the mechanism and get it going again. Barry |
