Even though it's about 3.5" thick, the best book that I've found is 'Real Estate Finance & Investment Manual' by Jack Cummings. I'm a finance student with a focus on real estate investment, and this book has helped tremendously. |

I just read a great book by Robert Kiyosaki "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". Been out for years and not really a real estate book, but he has great words of wisdom much like Fred just said. |

Real estate has definitely made a financial impact on my life. I know I wouldn't be where I am financially if it wern't for real estate. There is no way someone working for a paycheck can save a large amount of money. Most folks spend as they earn. It takes a lot of dicipline to save. Real estate is savings. Plus, I have bought many properties under market value that automatically have improved my net worth the day I bought them. To learn, go and take a real estate salesperson course. Then go to the library and read books. Then learn your state and local govermental laws and statues with regards to real estate and tenants. Most importantly, get friendly with a GREAT real estate attorney. The most important thing is to learn the contract. You don't have to buy a property to make money, you only need to control it. You can assign your contracts and make money without putting much up. Don't believe the TV infomercials. It's not easy. Be patient, you make your money when you buy a property!!! |

Miami Martin's "NO MONEY DOWN" cashflow program. For 3 easy payments of $49.99 you can be on your way to wealth in your spare time.... Carlton Sheets, Don Lapree, Brad Richdale the list goes on and on. Maybe you could wear a suit like that joker guy in the green ? mark suit offering gov't money to loan! |

Hi everyone, I want to learn about investing in real estate and was wondering if anyone knows a good, reliable place (book, website, etc..) that I can learn from. Has anyone here found any success in "flipping" properties? Just to avoid some possible flames: I'm not looking for the quick buck, I don't believe the infomercials that say I can make a gagillion dollars in 3 months, and I know that profits are only made through hard work, knowing your stuff, and taking your time. Basically I was curious if anyone does real estate investing on the side and have you found it to be a worthwhile endeavor? My goals for investment income are 1) it can help take some of the sting out of the U of M tuition bills that my wife brings home and 2) since I am in sales it could help through the lean times without tapping our savings too much and 3)maybe it will even help me meet my F-car goal sooner than later. Any thoughts or suggestions of where to look for reliable info would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance! |
