Mark (348 owner) and his father both have factory fives. (www.factoryfive.com) Great cars, but they are not really for the purist in the AC Shelby's. They are more for fun because they aren't too expensive to build and the parts are cheap if anything goes wrong (because they are built off of various late model mustang/t-bird parts).

I suppose it all depends what you want - a street fairing car, or a track car for lapping days/racing with clubs.

I wouldnt say no to Dax Cobra (www.daxcars.co.uk). I dont think they are same kind of replicas like Fiero/Ferraris etc. Original 427 Cobra race cars will cost like ~$1.000.000,-, so even the owners of real ones have replicas for track days. Of course you can buy a new real Cobra from AC UK about twice the price of replica.

Some time ago I almost ordered a Dax because my Jag XJS could be used as a donor car. But the problem was I considered it was a kit car and every one would know it. Dont like cheating...

I am wondering what others think about kit cobras. I dislike any kind of replica automobile, especially if it's a Ferrari or other production car. Yet, I always accepted a well done Cobra (like an ERA). Maybe it is because they were kind of kit cars to begin with. I bring this up because a friend of mine showed me his recently finished ERA 427 Cobra (with a true 427 side oiler engine) - it is absoultely beautiful and a great driving experience. What are you opinions/experiences with these cars?

Thank You,
Anthony
