You want celebrities how about Gary Colman in his suped up Suzuki Samari or Suzie Beta Jones (Catherine Zeta Jones fat ugly Sister)

Hotels (double occupancy of course) all 5 star
(according to the owners of them)

High speed closed roads (bring extra air cleaner as they are not paved and have a few ruts)

Hot sexy Babes waiting for action? The Krispy Kreme calendar girls + special appearances from the fat girls from the movie "Shallow Hal"

Sounds like fun Im in!

Right Dave,

Gentlemen may I ask you politely to stop talking this way since a lady frequently visits this chat :-) (Hope that remains this way!)

Martin,

I dont know what you are talking about but as far as I have learned even Ferraris are much cheaper in Germany. As a bonus you can really drive them as fast as they can on the streets. Legally! :-)

By the way: I like the idea of the Playersrun but what would make me just a little nervous are all the questions that are left unanswered. Not that I would care but they speak of celebrities but who are these? They also speak of high class hotels but name not even one of them. They dont name the route of the race or the "famous" racetracks they want to run on (By the way are they famous racetracks in the south of the US? Le Mans, Spa, Nürburgring, Monza, Monaco, Silverstone and as far as I know even Indianapolis isnt geographically near by!)
All these facts are hidden because it should remain a nice surprise. Sorry, but if I would ship my car from Europe to the States for one Event which costs me around $7500 plus several thousands of Dollars for the shipping I think I would have the right to get to know some more facts...
Get me right I dont want to accuse anyone but think it would be wiser to name these facts at their homepage to attract more people. IMO you must be mad to pay all this money with just knowing the few things which are mentioned on the site.

Con saluti cordialissimi,

OK, guys, enough. I think we have mined all there is to mine from this "entry fees"/"fee for service"/"shags or shoes" vein, and we don't want to run off the very few ladies who grace this message board...

Plus, you can't get sex for free anyways in reality. I mean if you go for the random girl chances are you're gonna need to buy her a few drinks (lol, that sounds bad). If you have a girlfriend forget about it, constantly wanting something, anything, plus you're gonna have to take her out sometimes. A prostitute is gonna cost you also. And having a wife is gonna cost you a hell of a lot, especially if you guys ever part ways. Now granted there maybe some benefits of going the girlfriend/wife route over the one night stand or prostitute way, but still. So....maybe the Players Run isn't so bad afterall...

That is 10 times more than Nika's shoes cost! :-)

Thank you Chris. Actually you have met me ( Markus ) at PPIR, Christian is back in Germany right now.

Just some quick facts about the 'Go Fast Sports' Playersrun :
$ 7500
- because $ 1500 of this goes to make a wish foundation
- because you stay for one week in the best hotels the south can offer
- you will have road closures and tracks...

we also pay referal fees for extremly nice cars

Do the math..not much left for Playersrun..but which other event collects $ 150k for such a great charity. You have even more fun, if you give a little bit ;O)

It is certainly not cheap, our target market enjoys driving tracks and road rallies but also wants to stay in top hotels and wants to get a piece of the spirit of the Cannonball runs ( the parties, the costumes, the celebs, the TV teams..).
...escape the normal life for a week ;O)

The cars range from Pagani Zonda to f50 and f40's to Murcielagos, Ruf Porsches, Tvr Tuscan and other exotics all the way to a mini and smart.

I really like otc or onelap, I heard they are amazing events..they are just something different.

If you have any questions about it, please feel free to call me at 303 549 3249 or email me at [email protected] !

Only you GUYS can compare an entry fee to "how many times" you could get it.......oooh brother!

I've talked with some people that have done a cross country rally and it was hilariously fun - I was tempted to get a racerchicks.com team ready for the next .... I just don't think "Players Run" is my style. William - I think you should do it! I'll be part of the gumball rally instead......365 GTB4 Oh yeah

and by the way - I can buy 18 pairs of shoes with that entrance fee!!!

Hell, I hope the answer is a resounding, "YES!!!" That means I could raise our entry fees another 5 GRRRRR and still come out as the cost leader. :-)

These rallies can be awfully fun, though.

I met Christian this weekend in Colorado at PPIR, seems like a nice guy.

Most vintage rallies, Colorado Grand, California Mille etc. are in this price range and there organizors do much the same thing.

I am nor endorsing this run, but the cost are compatable with similar events. Most other events PROHIBIT you from placing non-event stickers on the car.

What Christian did was give too much information,

Did we not learn anything last week?

If you don't want to do this thats OK, but somebody might, so at least be nice.

The Colorado Grand is $10,000, for a Colorado only run, this is coast to coast and is less.

I hope they make money, does anybody run a business to break even or lose money?

Has anybody ever been on one of the Taylor's rallies back east or in Texas or California? Everybody I have spoken to that has been on these types of runs have received more than the purchase price in memories and friendships.

I suspect this will be the same, if it is not, and you paid $7,500, then you can throw stones!

>>After putting the stickers of the Players Run and our sponsors on your car you are allowed to put stickers of your company on the car, too!<<

Thats great, so I'm going to pay YOU to be YOUR rolling advert? Why couldn't I just put stickers of my car, of my busines, and drive it everywhere, for...uh, FREE?!

>> We are also producing a coverage about the Players Run which will be sold to a TV station. Every car will be shown with your stickers in that special. Great advertisment for your company! Besides we're going to produce a Players Run DVD. Isn't that a great benefit participating in the Players Run?<<

Then, your going to use footage collected of my car, on your rolling advert carpet ride, and sell it, not once, but twice?! Whats the benefit to me, a proper set of napkins and hotel towels collected along the way, or are those turned in at the end and sold off as 'memrobilia' ?

I hope your kidding about all this.

I certainly hope its the "un-safe Gumball Rally type event with a bunch of rich yahoos driving their exotic cars on public highways at twice the speed limits, weaving in and out of traffic, passing on the shoulder, and out running the police while endangering innocent commuters."

Great advertisement?! $750K in entry fees (assuming it fills) AND you're selling the video for some "back end". Sounds like a great benefit to YOUR company.

There's going to be held a road rally from Los Angeles to Miami in February 2003: the Players Run. The Players Run is held between 15th February 2003 - 22nd February 2003. We even have celebs (for those who care).

You find further information about the Players Run on http://www.playersrun.net

For the European fellas: Shipping the cars from Europe to Los Angeles and back from Miami to Europe is going to be organized.

After putting the stickers of the Players Run and our sponsors on your car you are allowed to put stickers of your company on the car, too!

One of the specials: Some of the streets are closed only for the Players Run. Have you ever thought about driving with your supercar as fast as you want on an US freeway? That'll be a blast!

We are also producing a coverage about the Players Run which will be sold to a TV station. Every car will be shown with your stickers in that special. Great advertisment for your company! Besides we're going to produce a Players Run DVD. Isn't that a great benefit participating in the Players Run?

Players will actually finish the mission in another country (but same day).

Entry fee is US $ 7500.-

(for one car with 2 persons, so you can share the costs)

Players Run is an 'by invitation only' event. Limit of cars is 100.

Less than 50 spots left ... So just fill out the online application form:

http://www.playersrun.net
