mold mitigation company? I have a friend who travels all over and inspects various types of molds and reports back to insurance companies or health companies (not sure of the details). Great investment I think.

As for what is next? Not sure what to say - I pondered not really what was the next big investment, but rather... where do we go from here? If time repeats itself, its certainly doing that, however at a very accellerated rate. With the information bombarding everyone, its difficult to catch all of it. But right now, we're still in a nationalistic phase.. so in the political evolution, what comes next? and from what comes next, what will emerge as that item to invest in hindsight?

Its just a thought - but as Dave said... porn is always a good investment. I know of others who run porn sites and profit very very very very very well. Did I mention they profit very well? Also, two things that push technology more than anything else: porn and games. I wouldn't bet on the latter though, unless the turnaround time is 'yesterday'.

Steve: Way to go! The mold thing is actually a real issue. My company sells about 500 homes a month and one of my greatest issues is the presence of mold. It is so much an issue that my E&O insurance has now made mold an exclusion just like asbestos. I'm thinking of funding a mold testing and mitigation company right now.

Dave, I think porn and mold might go together.

You can't find it? Hmm, let me look into my Masertal Prematter Visionater, or MPV. Ok, I can find it.

Prostitution. And on-line porn. And residential mold remediation.

Anything to do with the geriatric crowd. As the population continues to age, medical, drugs, extended care homes and other products and services for the elderly will grow.

I am sitting here contemplating my pending layoff (maybe) and trying to decide what to do next.

Of course you all can't predict the future, but what do you think the next hot sector will be? Some folks saw the dotcom before it was mainstream. Some saw PC's. Some saw telecom. Some saw real estate. What are people going to want to buy next? Or what are companies going to need? What is the next growth industry?

I don't care about initial investment. I don't have millions so it doesn't really matter. I am more concerned with what is coming in the near future.

Are all you guys just sitting tight until the economy kicks back in or are you taking advantage of the downturn? If so how?
