Hutch I now exactly what you are talking about. It cost me close about $100.00 in club fees and dues this year. It is more for a nonres. The police patrol the trails heavily but are generally looking for out of control riders. I have gone by them many times at well over the speed limit and they didn't give me a second glance as they could tell I was in control of my machine. If I didn't live here yearround and only came up on weekends I don't think I would bother either. The trails here on weekends (southern vt.) are totally out of control. Fortunately I can work on weekends which frees up time during the week for me to ride when the trails are mellow. Randy snow is something that will make the wheels spin on your s2k! |

I sold my '95 Arctic Cat about 2 years ago.Registration, joining all the state, county and local clubs just to play around with my sled up on the trails of southern Vermont (Wilmington)was getting too expensive for too little fun. Besides, the cops started patrolling on the trails too. They could write you a speeding ticket on the trails, and the penalty would be assessed on your drivers license!! Also, the cops would hang out near restaurants and bars looking for sledders enjoying the outdoors after a good drink and meal. The fun days of sledding have ended sadly, imo. That is why I sold my sled. Sorry for being a buzzkiller, but enjoy your sled. - Hutch

I just came in from blasting around my yard on my new snowmobile. Anyone else here into snowmobiling? |
