If you can get a buyer to purchase the car at a price between trade-in and retail have the dealer do "in and out" transaction with the Porsche. That way you get the tax benefit for the higher purchase price of the Porsche, a higher selling price than the trade in, and the buyer gets a price below retail. A win-win for everyone if done correctly. Depending on your relationship with the dealer he may charge $250 or so for paperwork.

howie - that of course is the trick. i have the trade value, so it's a question of whether i can do better than trade + tax savings selling it myself. it looks like she'll be gone next week one way or the other.

Doody,

Will selling the Porsche in a seperate transaction be more beneficial with regard to taxes when registering the Maranello?

- 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo (996TT)
- Black Metallic Exterior
- Black Interior
- 11,3XX miles
- 6-Speed
- 03/01 Build; 05/01 In-Service
- Located near Boston MA

Factory Options:
* Wheel caps with colored crest
* Lumbar support
* Digital Sound package
* Remote 6 Disc changer
* Supple Leather front & rear
* Black mats with lettering
* Aluminum "turbo" door sills
* Porsche crest in headrest

Other items:
* Bumper plugs
* Clear side markers (I have the original yellow ones)
* Car cover with cable and lock
* Porsche travel umbrella that fits into door well
* Porsche trickle-charger

The car has been serviced at Clair Porsche in MA: once fall 2000 for it's annual; once this spring to get a rattle in the roof behind the sunroof fixed; and once two weeks ago for its annual, which included the 15K service et. al. All recalls and TSBs up to date. The car has about 60 minutes of track time on the road course at NHIS at a PCA DE shindig - green run group, I was a total newbie. Extinguisher and mount (no drilling done) available as well.

- Remainder of factory warranty.
- One owner car. Never abused.
- No accidents. No bodywork. No paintwork.
- Have every shred of paperwork you'd ever want and then some.
- Tires are in great shape (never lit them up).
- Half a case or so of Mobil1 0W40.
- PPI not a problem.

More upon request.

I need to make room for an incoming Maranello. Default behavior is to trade this car on the Maranello, but if I can do better privately, I'm all ears.

We can start discussions at $95K. I'm a reasonable guy - talk to me. The Maranello will be ready week of 12/09, so any deal would need to be done quickly. Serious buyers only please. Tire kickers please go visit a dealer near you.

Email if interested: [email protected].

Thanks,
Doody.
