I had it hard wired along the top of the windshield under the headliner and into the battery. Then used the clip onto the visor.Works great and no coils hanging down. Took less than an hr to do. |

Stu i read something about that a while back.Mike Valentine said that he tested aftermarket window tints and he found that metallic window tint affected the effectiveness of the unit, something about the metal particles in the film bouncing the signals around.not sure about factory tinting.also we discussed this in general ferrari disc. a while back,a fellow F-chatter (?) works with this stuff maybe someone can find the link.i'm to much of a moron to figure it out. hope this helps, good luck. frankie |

I have one and havent had any problems but I mount mine lower and yank it off if I see a cop. They dont approve of them in canada. They used to make you run over it with your own car if you got caught. Good unit though, Im really happy with it. |

I just bought a Valentine One and I was reading about how tint on a windshield will block out a considerable amount of the effectivness of the detector. My question; should I be concerned about the very dark tinting strip at the top of my windshield on my Euro 308? I was planning on installing the V1 just left of the rearview mirror. Have others found this factory tinting reduces the effectivness of their V1? Or, has anyone found another/better place to put the detector? Thanks, Stu |
