To a guy like Schumacher, pretty much any track-day guy'd be a poser, of sorts. To a collector like Nick Mason, anybody in a sub-GTO Ferrari could be considered a poser. Truth is, guys like these probably don't spend a ton of time contemplating/judging "posers".

I have a cousin who is a good friend of mine. He likes fast cars but doesnt know a whole lot about the past & tradition nor does he drive particularly well or fast. I suppose he's a bit of a poser but I still love him. I think he's going to get an MB 55SL though he was thinking about a 360

Who is to decide who deserves to drive a Ferrari or not? If its some 16 year old whose first car is a F50, then so be it- even if the only reason he got the car because his friends thought it was cool... I am sure you know many people who drive porsches and ferraris because they can, not because they like the car- but when it comes down to it, who are we to judge? If they have the money, let them do what they want, when I hear someone talk about a poser, or someone call another kid spoiled, I think of jealousy...

Fat joe only wears white shoes once.
Joseph, you cant really attach money to being a poser. It also depends what the person is trying to pose as. If i went out and got a snowboard and wore all burton clothes and tryed to act like i was good at boarding, i would be a poser.

Mojo, i saw something on MTV about Fat Joe having a 360 and not driving it, yet, too... Something about, as you said, he can't fit in it and he still needs to make some modifications... It's hard to say, because i don't know him personally so i don't want to judge him, but it's possible/likely that he's a poser...

Well with that said, the rapper Fat Joe was on MTV
Cribs, he had a silver 360 spider, and said he has not driven it yet. Oh my god, I dont think he could fit in it. but thats what all the other cool people have, So I guess he would be a poser.
I bet hes never heard the name Enzo before.

I think poser's tend to own the newest Ferraris. Now I'm not saying that if you buy a new ferrari you are a poser but poser's tend to want the newest hottest & dont have a clue about history & tradition

What about teenagers who get there cars from their parents?

If they apreciated the drive, feel, etc of the car would they be posers? Would you threat them differently?

I dont mean the kid who got the 360 in college because it was the 'koolest' car to get(the poser king), but ones that seriously love the marque, wait till 2 in the moring to watch F1, take fun drives at night when there is noone watching....etc

poser or not?

-Pino knows my little secret....:-)

A Rich Rapper is no Tifosi. I respect anybody that lives in a one bedroom apartment and has a Ferrari...that represents true love and sacrifice for their dreams of owning an F-car and owning history.

Generally I think the biggest posers are the people who just buy F-cars because they have the money to do so but dont know or appreciate the history and style behind them. Rich people who love and respect Ferraris are not posers...merely well off collectors :-), but ones who abuse them and just buy them for flash are...

LOL I hate it when I can't explain any of my feelings. I think you guys get the picture though. Great topic though!

I recall seeing, a couple of years ago, the most blood-curdlingly awful bright yellow leather Ferrari jacket, with a huge black prancing horse on the back and "FERRARI" in huge black letters up and down each sleeve. Now THAT was for posers. If Enzo himself walked up to you wearing that jacket, you'd say "Damn, what a dork!!"

But these rich rappers have ferrari's because there a cool car and they can afford it, so to me money has something to do with it. Maybe?

I agree with DES,

buying the car/getting it as a gift/having elves make it whatever, as long as you love the car with all your heart and dont just have it to:

1. say you have a ferrari
2. showoff to people you have a ferrari

Simple test: if you are free late one night, do you/would take your f-car for a spin and possibly and Italian tune or 2? (Assuming ideal road/weather conditions)

If the answer is yes, then No you are not.

I think many agree with that?

Mojo, a poser is someone who has product A for product B reasons... If you have a Ferrari 'cause you like Ferraris and that's it, then you're fine... But if you have a Ferrari just 'cause you think it'll get you chicks, then to other Ferrari owners, you're a poser... But to playboys or players, you wouldn't be considered a poser... See...?

What is a poser? 50k a year driving a 308 or 355?
70k a year with no other bills and driving a 360?
150k a year living paycheck to paycheck driving
any Ferrari? What does it mean, if your driving the car and its not getting repoed are you a poser? If you single and live in an apartment and
ever dime is in your car are you a poser? just wondering what you think. :-)
