but, actually, come to think of it.... I played AYSO soccer after I had "the" surgery on my foot. Must have had 5 or 6 removed. |

NFL players are still very tough. Also remeber the players of today are stronger and faster than they were back in the 70's. In the 70;s it was more about the game though. PLayers of today are anything but whimps. If you've never played the game you wont have an appriciation for the physical toll it takes on your body. I remeber highschool games taking shots to the head and having everything go blurry and still playing, i rmeber playing a game both ways with 2 turned ankles, i remember hurting the day after games. I Can only imagine how much it would hurt gettting hit by 350lb linema. the players obviously sit out for reasons. But during games they take such abuse. its not an easy job. |

actually Jon, If they used the co2 laser, it leaves a hole the size of a dime that's deeper than a 1/4 of an inch. Even though it is "instantly" cauterized, it WILL open up when ever he puts weight on that foot. Having ungone both that procedure and a broken collar bone, I would choose the collar bone again. |

Read the story below. Apparently Michael Vic is not able to play in the Pro Ball game because he is having a wart removed. All I want to know is if he will need additional time to recouperate from this serious surgery or will he be ready in time for training camp for the 03 season. Give me a break! I grew up watching the Steelers and Raiders battle each other in the 70's and can remember Bradshaw playing with a broken collar bone, Lynn Swann going back onto the field after his second concussion of the game and Mean Joe Green thinking he played a bad game cause the other team only had three people taken off the field on stretchers. Jack Lambert, a great Steeler's linebacker said it best a few years ago, "...hell we ought to put skirts on the quarterbacks..." Geeezzz ! I can remember Ronnie Lott being told one season that his finger would need sugery and he would miss six weeks. He told them he couldn't afford not to play as the Niners were short handed due to other injuries. He had them chop off half his finger from below the knuckle and played the entire season leading the niners to the Super Bowl. We're not talking about trimming his fingernail back, his whole freakin finger is missing. And now we have a guy who can't play because he has A FREAKIN' WART??? Sorry I just think that's lame. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/news/2003/01/23/falcons_vick_ap/ Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23
