Matt I had a '96 SS a few years ago that I purchased for work. Put on 20k in 6 months with no problems. The only reason I sold it was because winter was coming up and the car sucks in bad weather. Also the tires only last about 25k with highway driving. Try to stay with a '96 because the floor shifter is nicer than the steering column mount. Good large cruiser with plenty of grunt. Also, on the highway everybody slows doun because they think you are a cop. |

Thanks for the help guys. I checked the insurance on them and it actually dropped from the 600.00 evry six months for full coverage to 530.00. I was pretty shocked when I heard that. I did find a pretty nice SC 400 for $14,500 but it had around 80,000 miles on it too. I've also looked into getting a peice of junk pickup and a new motorcycle. Either a GSX-R 750 or 1000 maybe. Once agin thanks for the help. Matt |

I would say buy an older Lexus ls 400 There fairly cheap and a great realiable car. Top of the line for Lexus. |

"I can't afford a Mercedes or Lexus yet so this is probably my best bet." I'd say your price range is right in line with a 98-99 Lexus ES300. Great car, reliable, quiet, nice looking. |

I don't think anyone was talking about $16K for the Integra. I book the car out to about $8900. Still, I agree that that's a bit over DES's budget. |

I believe DES' budget was $2,000 not $16,000!! Sounds like a nice car though. Ryan |

GSR's are nice. my friend has a 98 with a little bit of work and sticky tirs on stock rims. Its' not riced though, just tints and comptech stuff, no stupid exhaust either. they look sharp in black with the rear spoiler. its quick too and handles amazingly. |

You have a '98 GSR with over 88,000 miles on it? Sounds perfect for DES. Where's DES? |

Matt - to give you some leads on where to sell it - take some pictures, make a list of the details and post away at: www.honda-tech.com www.rsxworld.com and www.s2ki.com - because you never know who will want a GSR. The sites I named off are generally very friendly and open for selling cars from individuals. Just take a handful of pictures - including the odo. Mucho luck. |

Check insurance on them. I heard it is pretty steep. Also, I think Motor Trend in their recent issue, page like 138 (March 03) does a story on them in the preowned section. Check it out. |

No it's not a Ferrari. Well today I have decided to get rid of my current car. I drive a 98 Acura Integra GSR that was bought due to my long drive to and from work everyday. When I bought the car it had 48,000 miles on it and in the 15 months I've driven that I have put over 40,000 on it. I am not into the import scene at all and was thinking about something a little bigger and with some more power. So tell me what do you guys think about the 93-96 Impala SS. I have looked at several and found a great deal on one but it sold before I had a chance to get to it. It has 29,000 miles and the guy was wanting $16,000 for it. That was the best deal I have found yet. I am just trying to get an opinion on them in case anyone has one. I can't afford a Mercedes or Lexus yet so this is probably my best bet. Thanks in advance Matt |
