Chuck, just a guess on my part, but if the site had that feature it would probably be used a lot thus hurting bandwidth and lengthening the amount of time it takes to load up a thread.
If I want to reply to a specific post, I usually start off using the poster's name then I add my reply about their post. |

umm that would be a Admin Messages.
but you can always use the /quote{blah blah} with a \ instead of / |
