Ming, the car runs in the same range as the M5- around 70k. |

Hi William, If you could live with the auto/F1 style gearbox and would like to have a new sedan for everyday use within sim months. GO FOR THE E55. It is faster than the SL55 bought by my friend last week and Yes, it is somehow faster than a 550/575 to 100mph. I am not sure how much it is asking in USA but US$140k in HK is definitely the fastest sedan you could get at the moment.

E55 is more comfortable front and rear.. different powerband and pulls more steadily IMO, though its not as exactly sporty as the M5 when pushed hard, again IMO. All depends on what you want, both great cars. And also depends on when your looking to buy and are you willing to wait.. Sunny |

Matt, The standard 5 series release is soon but the M5 is typically at least another year later. Here's the spy photos of the E60. http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e60/forum.php?postid=1830416&page=1 |

Will, the Mercedes only comes in automatic! Not sure about how 'bangalized' the styling is of the new BMW, but I am 99% sure its a 500hp v10- fast as hell, and a great car. I'd almost consider getting a Audi RS6 if I was you. 450hp TT engine, 0-60 in 4.5 and AWD- great for the winter. |

William, I agree with the Z4 but the more I see it in person, the more I like it. Not enough to buy one but I don't cry like when I see the 735i |

I have a 99 E55 and while it is a different beast from the new E55, I love Mercedes. I chose a used 99 E55 over a new BMW 540i Sport. Rumor is that the new M5 looks terrible. |

I'm scared to see what BMW's new nitwit designer is going to do with the M5. The new Z4 is hideous |

Myself, I prefer BMW. I picked a 530i Sport over the E320 Sport. I have always considered the MB to be a sporty luxury sedan and the BMW to be a luxurious sport sedan with a huge emphasis on SPORT! Even the AMG's I drove felt huge and soft compared to the 5 series. Dave |

Noel, The local dealer and C & D said fall for the release. Did they push back the date? |

...and the new M5 will have a detuned Formula-1 V-10. It will probably another 2 years for us to see the new M5. No question the new E55 is better cruiser than the M5. |

Looking for a new sedan, want to take delivery around July. MB has this awesome new car, it was in the last C&D, looks like a supercharged V8 with 460hp and 512 ft / # of torque!!!! CD says it will beat a Ferrari 575 to 100 mph Then of course the M5 is no slouch either. opinions ? |
