I work in a related field - by you decription I am not sure if you are talking about risk managment or portfolio mgmt. Risk managment is more of an oversight funtion to make sure portfolio mgmt are following guidlines set up by the organization.

Since there seems to be a lot of different professional backgrounds on the board...

Has anyone worked in investment risk management, specifically credit risk as it relates to REITs, bonds and fixed income securites? I have the opportunity to get into this field (moving from corporate finance)and was wondering if anyone here had any insight. The job is largely a consultative position, managing debt portfolios for large banks and investment houses. I think it would be enjoyable work and a great way to make connections in the world of investment banking as well. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
