Check out the Acura CL TypeS. As fast as the Viggen (260hp), cheaper too. Front wheel drive (Either Car and driver or Road & Track called it the best handling front wheel drive they've ever driven), a fully load 6spd will run you about 30K. |

Honda prelude, ...cheap and with the $ you save, you can save up for something better for your summer car. thats what I did. |

I own an 87 SAAB 9000T. The Viggen is extraordinarily engineered, and at one point in time (not sure anymore) was the best performing of any street SAAB ever. For the longest time, it was the "car of cars" for me. Though I ended up with a 308 , I'd have been plenty happy with a Viggen! The new SAAB Aeros don't do anything for me, the 93-96s were among the best 9000s ever, including the Aero... I test drove a 90s Aero once in South Carolina with my dad, again, amazing machine. The new ones aren't all that IMO, but still good cars. Very different effect than the Viggen. Not into the WRX or Evos. They're very different cars than the SAABs. Good luck and have fun! Oh yeah, black on black with tinted windows? Tight! |

I'm starting to look for a cool car for college and have narrowed it down to a few. It should be a no-brainer- getting the WRX, but I won't stay wtih it until I exhaust all of my other options. It has to be FWD or AWD, and it can't be an Audi (we've had bad luck with them in the past). My choices (I'd prefer to get it used, I have a nice car for the summer and just want a fun winter/daily driver): Saab Viggen Saab Aero Subaru WRX (Sti Possibly) Lancer Evo (When it comes out) Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Sport BMW 330xi Can't think of any else for right now. I saw a beautiful Saab Viggen 2-door black/black with tinted windows today and it really got me excited. Its in the lead as of now- anyone have any experience with them? What can you tell me? |
