Hi everyone, this is Bruce's son Anthony, my step father told me to update you guys on his condition. Just received a phone call from Hutch and he told me about this thread on Ferrari Chat. I would like to thank all again for your beautiful thoughts and besh wishes. Two months ago I went in for an operation to repair my left eye of the high pressure and the diabetes sugar leakage, they put a tube shunt in it to relieve pressure and to make the proteins and sugars exit throught the tube shunt. The operation was 100% successful the pressure is stabilized and the overflow of proteins and excess fluids are exiting normally and efficiently. However, the doctors don't know how much damage was done to the retina pre-op, the vision has came back a little bit, however they cannot put a time as to how much vision will come back and when it will come back. So it is a waiting game for the left eye right know. The right eye went through laser surgery to seal up all of the blood vessels so I would not have the problems like I had in the left eye. However, one of the blood vessels in the right eye hemmmoraged creating blood in my viewing retina, therefore I see only red in the eye. My doctor gave me a 2 week window to see if it would clear by itself and unfortunately it has not done so. The blood is trapped between the retina and the gel in the eye. They scheduled me for surgeory 5/8/03 and hopefully the problem will be corrected 100%. I would like to take this time to thank Tyler for starting the thread, my dear friends Marq and Hutch for all of their support and all of my great Fchat brothers. Tyler- Spoke to Bruce just a few minutes ago. His right eye has not cleared up on its own so he is going in for surgery on it 5/8/03. The left eye shows no appreciable change so far. Wish I had some more positive news. He does sound fairly upbeat (considering) and is truly learning the meaning of the word patience. Barbara and I are vacationing in NYC next week and had made plans to hook up with Bruce and Andrea. Obviously, they won't be able to do so. We're disappointed to say the least but, of course, we understand. BRUCE, GET WELL SOON!!!! WE ALL MISS YA!! | ||
