Dave - you and your little icons - just wait until I see you (Nika sharpens claws and taps whip on hand)
The wolf said, "You know, my dear, it isn't safe for a little girl to walk through these woods alone."
Red Riding Hood said, "I find your sexist remark offensive in the extreme, but I will ignore it because of your traditional status as an outcast from society, the stress of which has caused you to develop your own, entirely valid, worldview. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be on my way."

Leap into a fairy-tale world where trolls are "dirt-accomplished and odor-enhanced," witches are "kindness-impaired," and Cinderella wears a gown "woven of silk stolen from unsuspecting silkworms." How about: "The Duckling That Was Judged on Its Personal Merits and Not on Its Physical Appearance" for space reasons.

Wish I could take credit - BUT you should really buy Politically Correct Bedtime Stories - a hilarious book

Of course Ernie - you know I'm not going to let you off easy! As for Snow White....sorry can't help you.....but how about Little Red Riding Hood.....remember her Grandma was NOT sick........but rather in full mental and physical health and is fully capable of taking care if herself. CALL AARP!!!!

So as Little Red Riding hood goes off into the woods and meets the carnivous wolf....which is his natural state of being...well.....it gets
nasty!

How about some help with the three codependent goats gruff?

Sean:

Just looked at your comments re: Gates. Did you know that his Dad was counsel for IBM? Did you know that Gates purchased the company that invented DOS? Did you know that his Dad had a say in which operating system was used for the first IBM personal computer?

May just shed a different light on the story.

As to the other comments about reducing the voting by those who has lesser economics, been there, done that. In the frist few years of our republic, you had to own land to vote in a good many states, that had the effect of restricting the voting to the rich, or near rich. In the south, the whites used various devices to keep blacks from voting, literacy tests, land ownership, etc. The courts looked at all of these devices, and sooner or later saw what they were, and ruled them unlawful.

Sean i believe you have to be born in the US to qualify for Pres. probably the only reason why we'll never see Ahnold S as Pres of USA :-)

having said that, it seems the qualifications for being Pres are sadly lacking. Poliicians should be the last ones allowed to be President :-) We'd be better off if most politicians arouns the world were scrubbing toilets LOL

Actually, you have to be a naturalized citizen of the United Stated to be President. The immigrant in your example is not eligible.

Nor can you use "founding fathers" it's now "the framers". There are so many recently banned phrases you could never list them all here. And the latest thing is removing pictures of greasy foods like hot dogs and pizza, they don't want to encourage bad eating habits. LOL. Don't these people have something better to do?

My Russina friend told me a joke about the US.

A poor Russian immigrant lands in NYC in the 20th C & he is surprised when some1 tells him that here in the US anyone can become President. After living in the US several decades he realizes that Yes, any1 can become President in the US :-)

That is exactly the kind of rich get richer poor get poorer kind of attitude the liberals accuse the conservatives in this country of having and you're proving them right.

In a sence, b/c you have more money you already have a means to effect policy that the poor do not. They can't afford $1,000/plate dinners that you can and actually get close to a Senator or Congressmen. Being rich affords you a voice that the poor do not have.

With enough money, you can run for office and stand a chance to win while they cannot (although in theory they can).

I agree Gates is very smart & a visionary, I just dont think he's a genius like DaVinci or Dr Porsche

I guess what i really want to say is that more voting rites should be granted to people who have proven themselves through business, intellectual studies, or say a soldier who wins a Congressional Medal of Honor.

Why should the vote of an illiterate drunken crackhead loser carry the same weight as a Congressional Medal of Honor winner or a Neurosurgeon or Bill Gates for that matter ? It just doesnt seem correct to me

I have a Russian friend who tells me that "Democracies get the Govt they deserve" :-) Seems that can be a boon or a curse

Welfare versus "GED boy" are two different things. To an extent I agree that those pilfering from the public trough should have less say in how the public trough gets spent, but that's not what you said at all.

Oh, and successful people don't luck into anything. I would think someone who has as many exotic cars as you may appreciate this. Unless you inherited your fortune, I'm guessing you had to work for it, in addition to being smarter than the other guy.

Gates got where he is b/c of his brains. He did what he did b/c he had the forsight to look ahead rather than at just today. That takes more brains than your average instant gratification American can usually muster.

I dont consider Bill Gates to be a genius. Sure he was a visionary and he lucked into the ultimate pot of Gold when IBM signed over software rites to him. I think he is a very shrewd businessman & had the luck to be in the right place, right business, right time

I have a question about political correctness, not related to this story - does anyone know if there are actual standards imposed by FCC or the like that REQUIRE a certain percentage of minorities in all television commercials? It's just flippin' ridiculous to have every commercial showing the world in such heavenly harmony! Is it really that important that an ad showing a group of people carpooling to work MUST include a black man or woman, or that the crowd in the elevator has a representative from EVERY minority group?

Seriously, do they require this?

:-) Yes I'm sure my idea could use a little more work LOL I do think i'm on the right track though even though it will never happen in the US. I read in a sci fi book once about how in the future people on welfare didnt have as many voting rights cus it was thought they would just vte for more welfare. Not exactly my view but something to consider

I like William's idea. This means that when I go to the grocery store, I only pay a small percentage of what a rich guy does. It only seems right that since he makes 10 or 100 times more money that I do, then I should only
pay one-tenth or one-hundredth the price that he does. Sounds good to me. If the big shots are so intellectual, surely they would agree with me!

William H: Why don't you give that a little more thought and see if, perhaps, you might like to retract that statement?

Kalifornia is sounding like the "One World Order" more and more. Lousy anti-gun laws that violate the Second Amendment, restrictive smog control laws designed to eliminate older vehicles, outrageous taxes of all kinds, judges that ignore the vote of the people, political correctness (whimpyness), etc. No wonder that Bigfoot evolved to walk upright. He needed a way to leave California more quickly.

"I would think like to see people with higher education have more voting power than GED boy"

Nice elitest attitude. Why should his vote count more? Just because he's more "educated" doesn't mean he really understands what he is, or is not voting for or against.

Have you read some of the crap coming from acedemia lately (ie the highly educated)? They have absolutely no sence of what the real world is like.

My brother-in-law has a GED and makes at least $40K/month (way more than me) and he's not even 30. Does that mean he's smarter than me? More motivated? Better at taking risks? What, is it? Why should my vote count more because I have a higher education than him?

The irony is that history is constantly being rewritten in subtle ways, either to serve the needs of a particular agenda, or even if dispassionate, through the filter of whatever mores exist and influence at the time of the re-writing.

of course you realize that a dumb populace that has forgotten the lessons of history is much easier to control. THATS what dumbing down is about. Scary to think that all around the world govts are funding public schools to create a generation of MORONS.

When you have several Graduate degrees it isolates you from so much of humanity that its difficult to find people that are on ones level of education.

and of course the vote of a moron with a GED carries as much weight as the vote of a Dr in astrophysics. I would think like to see people with higher education have more voting power than GED boy

i think PC is required; i could be a PC posterboy... But in some ways, i don't think it's approached from the right angle... i agree with the general idea of what they're doing out in California, but not with their specific approach, their "replacement terms" or the lack of any indication that the original terms will be explained to the kids, for obvious reasons, etc, etc, etc...

Here's what makes this article just as moronic as 99% of every other mainstream media output: They go on and on with a twinge of sarcasm about the riiculousness of being "politically correct", then they come in with their own, very convenient euphemism:

quote:

The problem there, say historians, is that some Native-Americans did wear their hair in braids, and generally lived in rural settings before being relocated to reservations.

Being relocated to reservations... Can you say Indian Removal Act of 1820...? Andrew Jackson...? Killing, maiming, pillaging, raping villages, people, women, children, etc, etc, etc...

Yeah... "relocated"... LOL... What a bunch of assclowns... That's the real distortion of history...

Reality is only going to slap people in the face that much harder when they get out into the world and find out things aren't what the school system taught them. I'm going to try even harder to be polically incorrect in the future!
