I would not hesitate to use Premiere, great program. Used that professionally for awhile to edit things for cd-roms. Also had a Media100 system ($16,000) on the other desk that I used for video, and Premiere could do anything that program could do. The only real difference was that the Media100 could do them faster and a bit more powerfully. Don't let people tell you that Premiere can't do things, if you are smart and creative in how you approach problems, you can create pretty much anything. I also use Premiere now for some audio mixing, it has decent audio controls. Avid is cool, but unless you got the serious bucks, you ain't playin'. Fun to edit on though. Seriously, look at Premiere, worth the investment or download. Also make sure you try and learn AfterEffects, you will take your video skills to a whole other level with that. Good luck! ~Chris |

Vegas is mostly for sound I think. I use premeire for my editing projects mostly because thats the only one my brother has given me. Im also a big photoshop guy so I find getting around premeire easy and "normal" for me...nothing new. If you really want something powerful, try Avid. At my brothers film school, they use premeire and avid mostly... I sent you a private message. |

I am in the process of editing various footages I captured on my DV cams. I currently use Video Explosion, but would like to move to something more powerful. I read somewhere that Vegas Video 4 is better than Adobe Premier 6. I would like to get Vegas, but Premier has a lot of teaching materials going for it. So, which is a better choice? How about others like Ulead products? Thanks! |
