Hugh, who knows the daughter better than the mother, id be willing to bet the daughter wood run if bailed out and i dont even know her, anybody nutty enough to write letters like that wouldnt give a second thought to not running just because her mom would lose her bail money

Hmmm? Interesting action, but what about the inaction, on the parents side, that lead to the daughter to consider such behavior appropriate? While this single, heavy handed, act of "tough-love" may instigate some forethought from the little miss in the future, surely it's planted an indelible mark of resentment toward the mother; just not sure how "effective" this is?? Sending a 20 year to prison for a "prank" (while an act of immaturity and lacking in reason and consideration) and to ruin her life w/ a conviction at 20? Hmmm. And, why would the daughter "run" as the mother cited?

I guess I had just the right amount of ass-whipping from my parents when I was younger. Pulling something like this never would have entered my mind. I hope she gets 3-5.

Touching love story. Kid's a romantic. She might want to try to sell the movie rights.

Could be sort of John Hughes-on-crack film. Likely a blockbuster of epic proportions. At which point the recalcitrant youth would be swimming in USD.

That's when mom comes back around looking to ride the gravy train. Kid tells her to take a hike. Mom shows up with lawyers (and Erin Brockovich?) angling for her piece. That'd be the sequel. Maybe kid gets ticked at the aggressive grubbing and scrawls another note threatening Mom with a cup of McDonald's coffee. The story goes full-courtroom drama.

The mind boggles at the endless possibilities to spin this tale of reckless youth into a cimematic tour de force.

That is pretty cool. Who would be stupid enough to do something like that anyway? Almost like the guys who go into the airport and say they have guns at the security counter.
